Honestly, the vibe I'm getting from everyone connected with the club (except fans on the forums) is that everything is going well, things are being put in place, we're building up carefully for a stable and sustainable future, but these things take time if you do them properly.
The only people who seem to be in a flap are people who don't really know.
Call me a gullible idiot, if you like, but wait a couple of years and then call me that.

I don't get why some people are getting all nervous suddenly - I've not seen or heard anything that would warrant it

That's why people worry. There is absolutely no communication from the club. It's almost deja vu. The last communication of any significance was 'the landing lights' comment, which did nothing but build expectation, and since that, a very deafening silence.
A couple of points though: Wael is not involved in the stadium negotiations. They are being dealt with exclusively by Hani, and Mike Turner. It's a good little earner if you are a solicitor involved in drawn out discussions.
The grass is now about three feet high at the Colony. About time it was cut methinks.
I agree with those who are getting worried, purely because there is no communication with the club at all. This is not the way to continue.

My take on it is that if wael and family were con merchants DC would not still be here. We have a manager that is honest and intelligent so I'm happy to put my trust in his judgment.👍

Do you want yet another statement saying "talks are continuing" or " the grass needs cutting at the Colony - we will get round to it when necessary" Grow up and live a life

Mike Turner I believe was a significant player in the Brentford FC new stadium project. Genuine question - What does our 'highly paid' Chairman actually do?

I understand the communication point but if there is nothing to communicate then pointless putting out something meaningless as people will just criticise non news .... We've been given a date that we'll hear - by end of August so we just need to be patient .... Re the Colony there is no point spending money on getting contractors in to cut the grass if shortly it's just going to be dug up and levelled and or built on ... Again , until we hear something to say it's definitely off or plans fallen through or finances aren't there then we should cut some slack - they've done nothing to show they're doing anything other than what they said they would. They never once said they'd splash out loads of money on players, they said they wanted to build the infrastructure up which they have with purchasing the training ground, creating the U23's and getting the players, getting the medical and back room staff in, DCs contract plus signing 2 first choice keepers, sercombe, Nichols, broadbent, bola etc ..... Based on facts I can see rather than hearsay and pessimism I think they are doing everything they said they would and I'm not gonna doubt them (but then again I am an optimist!)

SH has said about 6 times on the record since then that things are progressing. If you ignore that, or discount it, then fair enough you're not obliged to believe it, but you can't say it didn't happen.

No news is good news is something I always remember but the problem is that the no news has been going on for far too long now and I fear there will be one mighty cave in within the Club if the news when it does come is bad news. Everything about our club seems to go to the very last deadlines both on and off the pitch. I would describe my present position as worried but still believing but only just. The main problem is without doubt the fact that the old "leaks" that surrounded the previous boards appear to have been put to bed but this in turn has increased the number of so say "in the knows" or appear to be "in the know" on the forum. With many it appears to me to be a case of fear mongering and "I told you so". The silence can't go on forever but until it ends the scaremongers will be having their day and the bandwagon of those scaremongers is getting bigger as former "negatives" make their return. I prefer to continue to hold on to hope and hope that I am not one of the "gullible idiots" when the truth eventually comes out.

If you think people who support the board are happy-clappy naive gullible rose-tinters, then it follows that DC is the happiest-clappiest naiveiest gullibleiest rosiest-tinteriest of us all.

There is no news. And what relevance is the length of the grass? There is actually building work to be undertaken- the grass can be cut way down the line?

Whats the worst that can happen. Everything goes tits up?
We will at least have had a couple of extra years unlike if the previous owner was still in charge.
There are questions that can be asked of the Al-Qadis but they are not in the business of tittle tattle and placating the ITK brigade
The unknown can be scary, but what was going on under NH and tbe sainsburys debacle was just as scary.
I dont see us as any worse off, and for all tthe uncertainty, the footballing set up is a million miles from rag bag rovers and portakabins and Ray Kendall doing a million jobs

Given what's gone on in the past, stadium wise, I don't really understand how Rovers fans are just content to accept no news is good news. As far as the fact we were told there would be an announcement by the end of August can anybody point me to where that was said, as SH said in January the deal would have to be agreed "by August" not the end of August/September.
But are we really going to keep negotiating a £50m+ project until the last minute, then rush though the contract signing overnight to meet the August deadline, either something must have now been agreed in principle, or the deals virtually dead, the lack of recent updates does make you wonder if it's the latter, plus signings this summer have been fairly average.

If we think it's gonna happen, we can wait until it happens, or be proved wrong. If we don't think it's gonna happen, we can wait until it happens or be proved right. The only choice is whether to whine about it on the internet, or to whine about people whining about it on the internet. Or not. Seriously, what is it that we should do that doesn't involve us bullshitting on the internet?
