But are we really going to keep negotiating a £50m+ project until the last minute, then rush though the contract signing overnight to meet the August deadline, either something must have now been agreed in principle, or the deals virtually dead, the lack of recent updates does make you wonder if it's the latter, plus signings this summer have been fairly average. They've said a dozen times that this is agreed in principle. The whole point of negotiating is to hammer out the details, surely?

The lack of progress is frustrating. If the club can't give another update because there is nothing to say, that implies little progress has been made.
It seems to me the AQs are still in a position to execute an exit plan. I understand things take time, but until there is tangible progress on either the training ground or stadium I will feel cynical.
With regard to the stadium, surely contractors need to be mobilised soon in order to get enough done by January.
You would think someone, somewhere would know that jobs were out to tender. As we haven't heard anything, you can only assume this process hasn't started.

Tbh I have given up on the proposed timelines for both infrastructure projects, personally I do not take any notice of what Hamer has to say about anything. For me, we will be at the MEM for the long haul,I am more interested in the current team; we have never had a decent stadium and its a long time since the club had its own training ground at hambrook.

They probably don't want to give anything away now until everything is either signed and sealed or there is no chance of that happening. We have heard a few times that things are progressing, however, Hamer also said we probably wouldn't hear anything significant until August as it is pointless given needles updates. He also said they would look at extending the deadline slightly if things were close and looking like there would be a successful outcome.
The new coach said in an interview he signed because we are doing the right things and building a new stadium etc. DC has signed a new long term deal. We have paid fees for players and increased the budget. Why would they do all this if they were planning on walking away?
We have waited this long and we will have to hear something from the club by the end of august. We will hear one of 3 things. It's been successful, unsuccessful or we are close and still working on completing a deal.
Just need to be patient now, not long until we find out and imo all the signs are positive.

Whats the worst that can happen. Everything goes tits up? We will at least have had a couple of extra years unlike if the previous owner was still in charge. There are questions that can be asked of the Al-Qadis but they are not in the business of tittle tattle and placating the ITK brigade The unknown can be scary, but what was going on under NH and tbe sainsburys debacle was just as scary. I dont see us as any worse off, and for all tthe uncertainty, the footballing set up is a million miles from rag bag rovers and portakabins and Ray Kendall doing a million jobs Agreed - the footballing set up is infinitely better than what it was - but at what cost - a £10m charge against our only asset? As the song goes "It's better to burn out, than to fade away"

However the charge is not against "our" asset - club is now pretty much owned lock, stock & barrel by the AQs who will use it as & how they please in the process of taking the club forwards.
Why would they go through all the cost & effort of the last 18 months to walk away when on the brink of something huge?
