All the hand wringing and having a pop at one another gets us nowhere. Before we can move forward, we need to embrace the past, and comprehensively come clean about why the UWE has failed. I hope and pray that it is all down to the greedy sods at UWE. That would at least prove a good starting point for our future relationship with, and confidence in our current owners. This has to be the immediate starting point, no ifs or buts or any more of this secrecy rubbish. Agreed, certain issues need to be kept quiet, but not to the exclusion of everything. Above all, from now on the club must embrace its fans and communicate. We were told at a meeting in Weston that there was a plan B, by SH. Is that true? If not then I'm afraid there will be no faith in SH ongoing, and a change will be needed. If true, where does it stand currently, and if the site cannot be named, is it in South Gloucester, and can the land be purchased?. It staggers me that Spurs and Arsenal can build new stadiums in the middle of our capital, but we cannot even buy empty land in a city surrounded by lots of unused space. If South Gloucester really want us, now is the time to get real. Over to you South Gloucester Council. To balance this. Yes Spurs and arsenal can but they had outgrown their grounds and can raise petitions etc of huge numbers as well as having plenty of high profile supporters and backers. Liverpool and Everton couldn't do it, Brighton couldn't do it in the town and I'm sure there's plenty others that have struggled to get the diggers in. Completely agree with your views though.

Well it kind of depends what "the deal" was. All we know is it's off. If they considered it bad for BRFC then why would they do it. Think we need some more info (if at all possible) as to why it's been called off before we can say one way or the other. Yeah, looking at NH's tenure, it's possible to say that not every decision he made for the club was spot on. The idea that Wael isn't to be trusted coz he isn't doing what NH wanted to do 6 years ago is a weird one. That everyone seems to think he should be doing this deal, even though no one knows the details of it, is another weird one. Yeah, it's disappointing, but we need to judge Wael on what he does with his own plans, not how he follows through on someone else's non-stellar legacy. Yep. Just wish many others could see that. If this was their plan failed it would be different.

I really dread to imagine how some of our older suppporters feel. The same as always, mate. Nobody knows what`s going on, but things look bleak. Just like every other day, since I started supporting the club in 1979.

Same here William except I started supporting them in 1973! It's like a life sentence, murderers only serve 15 years don't they?

Gutted, I really am lost for words, supported Rovers since the Eastville days in 1962, even went to Man U with my grandmother on a train from Stapleton Road in 1964. I have been through all the bad times, some good in between, excepting the last three years I really thought that "the promised land" was in sight. Howeever, still going to Charlton on Saturday, always a Gashead.

Me too, i was living in swansea when he was there and my employer sponsored one of The stands at the vetch. Didn't have a good word to say. Not that I'm Steve's best mucker, but how is this his fault? Steve Hamer left Swansea because he did not agree with a share refinancing proposal that a couple of directors were forcing through. Don'the forget if it was not for Swansea City council the football club would be out of business long ago. It was they who built the Liberty stadium and they still own it, with the football club paying rent. There has been much talk of them purchasing the ground but in spite of their wealthy American owners and Premier league money they have still not reached an agreement.

If UWE wanted to, they could build the stadium themselves and do what they want with it.
In short they have never needed us and could do a million things with the land, therefore we were always gonna have to 'put up or shut up' and we seem to have chosen the latter.
We were never ever going to get the better deal out of this and because of this im glad it isnt going ahead. Just hope Wael/Dwayne Sports doesnt asset strip us like Firoz Kassam did to Oxford.....

Issuing a statement at 11pm on a Wed night, then having UWE all over the local media giving their version of events, without a word for our side. I think the AQ family are split over this. Wael probably doesn't want to face the press/fans. The older brothers and father have probably told him, "it's your baby, you deal with it". The lack of a press conference by Rovers is damning..............and there are the ongoing rumours of even more bad news to be revealed!

Me too. I think you have to be a certain type of person to believe this is the tip of the iceberg. I guess I'm not naturally that cynical! Life's better believing good things are coming until you know otherwise! How long have we been friends now? I feel like you hardly know me anymore. haha! No evidence for bad news though mate. We don't officially know pulling out of UWE is bad news. It could have been a crap deal for us and why settle for that. Plenty of rumour going round and that's all that is for now. The only level on which I'm disappointed is location. UWE would have been perfect for us to get to as out of town non-drinkers with kids. We may all look back and say what a good decision this was if we're sitting In a 30K all seater on the ring road with a hotel and conference facilities. Or we could look back on it as the start of the end!! No evidence of which it'll be right now, just theories and rumour!

The only contact they have had with DS is the statement released last night!

Had a look at fb page and Chris Brown (not one for making up BS) has stated he has heard bad news from Rovers. Basically Hani has ditched the stadium and has put no money across to run the club. Has any one heard anything to collaberate this? Yes about 3 weeks ago There is a move to put a winding up order before the courts by a group of creditors

They were formally told by Dwayne sports on Monday. Source = UWE Vice chancellor.
"Vice Chancellor at the university, Professor Steve West, claims he was only told talks had collapsed on Monday"
"surprised to receive an email from Dwane Sports’ agent on Monday stating the deal had collapsed."
Ask yourself where the leaks came from if UWE was informed on Monday .....
