They were negotiating for as long as they could, UWE obviously couldn't accommodate our needs no matter how much they apparently compromised and so we pulled out in the best interests of the club. I don't see your point? Mario, i dont know you or what you do for a living. But i can promise not many Businesses would announce a potential investment has fallen through at 11 PM, and then then the other party release a statement saying they dont know why the other has pulled out all of a sudden and door was still open. These negotiations have been going on 18 months and when we pull out they say the door is still open. No wonder we got bored of negotiating. It sounds like the ball is firmly in their court, if they want to change their demands then we might do a deal, if not then F##k em!!

Here's my synopsis.
Best case scenario: the deal Higgs agreed was based on getting £32m from Sainsburys so he could afford to compromise on income streams etc. With the Mem being worth considerably less in the real world, our new owners have had to fundamentally re-negotiate. Agreement has not been reached and we are prepared to walk away. Very best case, we have a Plan B or this will force UWE to compromise. Outlook: positive.
Worst case: the long term plan and recent investment in infrastructure was based on UWE going ahead on mutually acceptable terms. The contract was drafted but, after much dithering and deliberation, the family elders and / or other investors have concluded that the whole project is unviable. With no prospect of developing new income streams in the medium term, they are now unprepared to fund losses in the short term. Outlook: negative, very.
Keep calm, he's passionately committed.

It does seem wael may have his poker face on, trying to force UWE to possibly give up a little more. If this is the case fair enough I say. Strange the geezer from UWE says he has no idea whatsoever why we have pulled out 😂😂.. I find that extremely odd 🤔🤔 Another BR-exit Shambles. Could it be that the two are connected? Many foreign investors will be pulling their money out of UK in the coming years. Any company worth it's salt will be investing in Britain, we will be Global players, not little Europe players.

Like Perishing Holdings, Allied Irish Banks, Deutsche Bank, Santander, BMW Mini, Amazon, Aldi, Siemens, Toyota, Snapchat, CNBM Construction, Dong Energy, Facebook and Lidl you mean? All of whom have announced multi-billion investment in the UK in 2017.

The door is still open for a stadium, but they don't say with whom! Planning Permission is Planning Permission. Somebody else could use that.

The glass half full supporters are telling themselves that its the first case and the glass half empty supporters are telling themselves that its the second. I'm just glad I have a positive outlook on life so that I don't go into slitting wrists mode every time something like this happens.

Lansdown's going to buy the UWE just so we can't have it. How about a nice little 20,000 seater stadium (in total) for the rugger boys. Add on a smaller indoor arena for the basketball team (it's a known fact that he is looking to build this). The ladies could also play football there, and with his wealth, ownership of the actual ground may not be an issue? Maybe it would also become the new 'Bristol Arena' with a bit of creative design? So, rugby, ladies football, basketball and a music venue........don't you think that would be attractive to the UWE?

And even then Rovers would still be around and half of Bristol would still be Blue and White, if he wants to p*ss money away it is upto him. Unlikely though I think.

So, UWE were waiting for Rovers to issue heads of terms , which they have not received. Instead we have pulled the plug and UWE claim not to know the reason. If true, this for me was the most worrying statement as it implies there was sufficient common ground for the HoTs to be drafted, and we were in control of that drafting, but have decided not to proceed.

The snake shenanigans were bad enough. He's got no hope of getting back the money he's already spent unless 82 establish themselves in the prem and qualify for the Champions League 10 years running. I thought they were developing a basketball arena near AG already and it makes perfect commercial sense for men's football and rugby divisions to share. Would he really throw away another £40M just to water us off? Nah.

Yes, but, does this remind anyone else of the "Come and pick you seat at Whaddon Road for the next 2 seasons" fiasco of a few years ago?
It seems Dwayne Sports got smoked out las evening when that chap leaked the stadium was dead on Twitter. DS released a hasty statement at 1100pm? They didn't even have the courtesy of waiting until the morning to inform UWE before releasing their statement.
What sort of way is that to conduct business? Also, the VC said the Heads of Agreement had been with DS for some time but hadn't been signed and returned. That kind of suggests every thing had been agreed, the clues in the terms used. So what's changed?
Also, DS has done a Higgs hiding in the bunker routine. If they have nothing to hide, why not come out and publicly give reasons, and where they intend going next.
It's all starting to stink if you ask me. I reckon we will see the club being sold off n the near future. Let's hope it's to someone who actually has the money to see things through. I'm beginning to suspect the Al Q's don't.
