How about a nice little 20,000 seater stadium (in total) for the rugger boys. Add on a smaller indoor arena for the basketball team (it's a known fact that he is looking to build this). The ladies could also play football there, and with his wealth, ownership of the actual ground may not be an issue? Maybe it would also become the new 'Bristol Arena' with a bit of creative design? So, rugby, ladies football, basketball and a music venue........don't you think that would be attractive to the UWE? You'd have to raise a wry smile if Lansdown pulled that one off. The snake shenanigans were bad enough. He's got no hope of getting back the money he's already spent unless 82 establish themselves in the prem and qualify for the Champions League 10 years running. I thought they were developing a basketball arena near AG already and it makes perfect commercial sense for men's football and rugby divisions to share. Would he really throw away another £40M just to water us off? Nah. I don't think he worries about 'getting his money back'. I think it's more to do with his ego.......and 40m when he's got 1,500 million? That's just petty cash isn't it?

Any company worth it's salt will be investing in Britain, we will be Global players, not little Europe players. So glad you added a smiley face! I thought you were serious for a second! I see young Brighton, you have been turned to the Green side !

WAQ - "UWE the only site, everything including finance is in place" Hamer "There is no Plan B" Hmmm... And the all important Feasibility Study came back positive, apparently. Presumably the FS would have been based on the agreements reached at that time - around 12 months after the takeover. Has one party moved the goalposts so far since then that a deal can't now be made? Something just doesn't add up.

There has been plenty of talk of Rovers having a Plan B to put pressure on the UWE, but what if the UWE have a Plan B, in that there is someone else waiting in the wings to build?

We'd have heard a rumour by now. Landsdown was the owner of Bristol rugger for two years before it became known. Wasn't he given an Honorary Doctorate (or something) from the UWE for the financial advice he has given them over the years? UWE have started to use the Conference Facilities at trashton. Are the clues there?

Has one party moved the goalposts so far since then that a deal can't now be made? Something just doesn't add up. “A new stadium has to be built. We cannot be sustainable if we stay at the Memorial,” Qadi says. “But we inherited this situation and we did find some issues which we had to address, and it takes time because UWE are a public institution; it’s not a private company where the CEO can say: ‘Let’s get rid of this condition.’ We hired Ernst & Young, they’re doing the feasibility study and they should be done very soon, so it’s a gradual process. But if we want to succeed, a new stadium has to happen.” June 1st... 'Today Hamer has spoken out in an interview with the club confirming that discussions are still very much in progress.' He assured fans that there was nothing to suggest that the stadium won’t happen. He said: “I have been very honest about that we are still talking and negotiations are taking place as we speak now. “So until one side or the other says we can’t do it or we don’t want to do it, we keep going on and we keep trying to achieve it." Today... Professor West said: “It is disappointing and very surprising. We felt we had made fantastic progress. We are disappointed that we haven’t been able to give Bristol Rovers and the local community a high quality stadium.” The Vice Chancellor claims he has had no contact from Dwane Sports despite sending emails. There are no meetings between the club and the university currently in the diary. Professor West said: “We are working off the assumption that there has been a pull out by Dwane Sports who have announced that they are closing discussions."
