Love the men, hate out of town concrete bowls, what's not to like ? Due to parking/ environmental issues I'd be surprised if we getting planning permission for much more than 15,000 capacity ...major redevelopment means either a year away from the Mem or 3 or 4 years with restricted capacity and what new income streams will it generate? OK if your ambitions are limited to the lower league football. Actually I feel sorry for Wael ...not sure why though. My realistic ambition is half way up the Championship with as many good cup runs as possible. A 15,000 sell out every week at the Mem sounds great. Other than that a 100,000 seater floating pitch in the Severn with a park and ride new improved Aust ferry.

Would redeveloping The Mem be that bad? If we could find another site suitable in 5-6 years? I know it'll be even more time and money but other clubs have done it. Leicester completely redevoloped Filbert St and then moved to a new stadium about 5 years after. Derby did the same to The Baseball Ground and then moved to Pride Park about 3 years after. Whether it is feasible for Rovers to do something similar, I dont know, and its probably doubtful. But it has been done before Yes, but where's the money going to come from to do this. We have not managed to build one ground in 40 odd years let alone two in 5 years. Wake up from dreamland.

Just what we need .. the next three years of Gloucester Road protest groups, radicals, lesbians, do gooders, and total pain in the arses.. whining about lighting, car parking, noise and anything else that might earn them attention and headlines.
The carousel is being spun yet again .... buckle up everybody and grab a sick bag.

Really can't believe Wael is happy to be falling back on Plan Z. Getting planning permission alone is going to be a frickin' nightmare. How many could a redeveloped Mem even hold now? I know we were looking at 18,000 when we planned to redevelop back in 2005 but is that still possible?

That lot down the road seemed to get planning pretty quick for their ground after Ashton Vale went tits up. You need to know the right people to get things done in Bristol...we've never been in with the Merchant Venturers or those with the funny hand-shakes and bare knees.

Bellends. They shouldn't deserve any say in the matter, unfortunately they always do.

Why release this just before a game? Hardly going to get the fans in the mood for it It's got me in the mood for it. If we do the Mem up and turn it in to a 15-20,000 capacity nice stadium then that's fine by me. Realistically we'd struggle to get more than 15,-20,000 unless we were in the Premier league and I'm really not that fussed about us being in the Prem anyway.

Problem is a tarted up mem is hardly going to get investors' blood racing, so the bulk of the funds will probably need to come from the owners' pocket. Im fearing the worst, seats bolted into the terracing, bigger tents...maybe we can do safe standing to keep capacity above 8k. At least we'll be sold out every game...maybe

I hope he realises there is no way he can utilise the mem in whatever form it is redeveloped to be a money earner

Was thinking of a ground share with Newport County on a tide table basis. Some sort of wave power thingy could be the additional income stream ?

Love the mem, hate out of town concrete bowls, what's not to like ? Happy with the Mem site - I just thought SH and WAQ told us early doors staying wasn't an option due to lost of £££s.
