Just what we need .. the next three years of Gloucester Road protest groups, radicals, lesbians, do gooders, and total pain in the arses.. whining about lighting, car parking, noise and anything else that might earn them attention and headlines. The carousel is being spun yet again .... buckle up everybody and grab a sick bag. What have lesbians got to do with anything you plank?

Love the mem, hate out of town concrete bowls, what's not to like ? Happy with the Mem site - I just thought SH and WAQ told us early doors staying wasn't an option due to lost of £££s. Yes, am sure he said on twitter when questioned that it was no feasible. Sense it is a statement to just try and appease people by thinking something is going to happen rather than admitting they have no real ideas what comes next

That lot down the road seemed to get planning pretty quick for their ground after Ashton Vale went tits up. AV's in a massive sh!t hole, the Mem is surrounded by houses on all four sides, even if we got BCC to grant pp, wasn't even the last one a close run thing before the loonies really got going in Bristol? Will we still have to face a potential JR? Doesn't Wael realise the previous owners could never get previous plans to be viable even with student accommodationdation being part of the plans?

If we ever progress we clubs have increased Uwe to 33,000. At the mem we will be lucky to even have 20,000.
Not to mention it costs more to refurbish then build new a lot of the time and we could have sold the mem land if we built Uwe.
Mem likely to cost us more and be a lot worse. Will this happen anytime soon. Or just trying to keep a few fans happy by saying this.
Now will probably wait a year while they look into it and then say it's not cost effective.
Is money the real issue??

I'm a lot more disappointed with this than the announcement of UWE falling through. I don't see how's it's feesable long term and its that's the case I think the owners will be off.

He still hasn't told us exactly why the UWE deal failed. A mystery according to UWE. I cannot see Al-Qadis or anyone building a modern football stadium on the old rugby ground site, for numerous well documented reasons. Fans are being conned yet again.

“This emotion came after it was over. It was kind of a relief, we have our own ground, and the club has its own land - let’s regenerate the Mem. Why not?” Al-Qadi told the Post. Just f**k off already. Really?

I'm glad a few can see we have a couple of conmen at the helm, or a self confessed bullshitter in Hamer.

Yes, but where's the money going to come from to do this. We have not managed to build one ground in 40 odd years let alone two in 5 years. Wake up from dreamland. Problem is a tarted up mem is hardly going to get investors' blood racing, so the bulk of the funds will probably need to come from the owners' pocket. Im fearing the worst, seats bolted into the terracing, bigger tents...maybe we can do safe standing to keep capacity above 8k. At least we'll be sold out every game...maybe Bournemouth ground hardly gets the pulses racing but they do ok...

IMO they'll be looking to sell the Club - sooner rather than later. Investment Bankers by definition will want a sustainable ROI and they won't get it staying at the Mem - and they know that.

There would be plenty of space to build a decent 2 tiered 18/20000 all seater if the pitch was turned But like it has been said your now going to get green loving labour/liberal twats sticking there oar in against Any possible planning like they did for the re delevopment of the mem first time round with the student accommodation , the S*insbury's store and The Gloucestershire ccc delevopment.
Perphap invest money opening up Ashley down station to help with the traffic / parking or a park and ride And buy the vic for a decent watering hole
Easy job done

I was on about Ashton Gate, didn't they change the rules about JR's making them more difficult to obtain just after ours,or did i dream that.

Is money the real issue?? You now sense the UWE plans were dead by the latest when Wael decided to spend £100K on the Mem pitch which was in May(?) so all this talk now about a July 31 deadline sounds nonsense. The ALQ's most likely set terms they knew the UWE would never agree to so they could walk away, a bit like Sainsburys and the extended delivery hours. Then we have SH suggesting DC had a top 6 budget which now looks like a top 12 budget, why do we always get shafted by our owners at Rovers?

I literally don't have the energy to het so worked up about it anymore. A redeveloped Mem would do me fine as I'm sick of having a laughing stock of a stadium. I know it's a short term view but we've seen so.many other plans fall on their arse than I'd certainly take this over nothing.
