Of course he's in it for the money, it's his job. May also make his CV look better if he can achieve good progress here. Nothing wrong with that.

Same system at Brighton when I watched them play last year. Stayed the weekend, bought tickets in advance, showed bus driver my ticket and no charge there and back. I seem to recall a (dis)similar system with season ticket holders in our early days at the mem, a book of 1st bus travel tickets. I might be talking out of my rear end but at my age that is permissable Not talking out of your rear!! I remember using this - but most drivers each week had never heard of it and I had to explain and then they begrudgingly let me go for free. I now drive as easier and cant afford over priced beer, I drown my sorrows at home. Cheap beer and transport (go hand in hand) and I may change my ways.

Still suspect many will doubt the al-qadi interest in the club...
Great news. Flagging on this for years.

Sounds like he's not just in it for the money. I wonder what sort of pay cut he took leaving Brighton? Perhaps Commercial Director is actually a promotion from being in charge of B&HA marketing. That's what Ive presumed, he's now number one man in a smaller operation as opposed to one of many in a bigger operation. Now it's his chance to shine and get the credit. And if he's been at 4 clubs at his relatively young age I would imagine he wants to impress and show what he can do. That's good, it's the equivalent of signing a young player who also wants to impress. He's a man in a hurry I would think, nothing wrong with that. Good luck to him! UTG!

"Guaranteed to get custom on a Saturday". Yes 23 out of 52 on a year. Not even half and what about the rest of the 342 days in the year? Oh hang on I forgot, 3 or 4 night matches and the odd cup game, bound to make a fortune from that. That idea can be binned along with subsidised travel and free WiFi! Bideford, There are companies at Glastonbury that make majority of their yearly revenue in the space of 4/5 Days. The cost to rent each plot being quite substantial. A pub would do very well having quite big intakes on Saturday amd the occasional Tuesday for half of the year. Providing they do well on a saturday should see them through a week. If its any good and well presented in sure you might get people going mid week too to watch the 10s of other games games that are in Tv. The garage bought the pub in the auction ages ago

Somebody pays the driver's wages, the fuel, purchase and maintenance of the bus etc You're not getting the point. If the local authorities are serious about getting cars off the roads and getting people to use public transport, then they have to make it attractive to use. Getting free use of public transport, in conjunction with local large businesses, is a must, especially for things where you can buy the entrance ticket to the venue/event in advance. That bus will go from A to B if there is one person using it, or twenty people using it. The bus driver still gets paid, the bus is maintained etc. I'm am mate, and I'm not saying it's a bad thing that somebody is subsidising free transport is a bad thing, but it is a fact. Saying that it's not costing anyone anything is just daft, by that logic all buses would stop charging once there was X number of people on board!

I sent him a tweet with a big welcome from the gas family and asked if he could look into the pastie situation and he tweeted back that he will indeed investigate it

Should test his diplomatic skills!

Interesting to see that Brentford's planning application has been altered to reduce their capacity from that originally proposed. From 20k down to 17k and will be cheaper. The logic being that their ambition is to get to PL and that numbers through the turnstile at that level are less important than TV money, the savings being put into team investment to get to the PL. Interesting and brave logic, could work, but the pitfalls are there for all to see. But just wondering if our new man, coming from a higher level, might also have some new thoughts (as we are still I assume in the early stages of this brave new stadium world) on how commercial/stadium revenues could integrate in a different way to the traditional thinking.

If we had a more joined up approach to the hospitality/catering side perhaps we could generate more income per visitor. Not maligning the current/previous team, but it is clear to see that improvements can be made. Onwards to Saturday to see our new man at the helm of the good ship Gas

Not that I purchase any food or drink in the ground but if they can scour the length and breadth of the country looking at ideas for a multimillion pound training ground, im sure it would be quite easy to provide edible food for its fans.
