If BB goes and no-one is signed as a replacement then I really don't know what's going on at the club. We still seem to be run like a Sunday League team.
Bodin was always likely to attract attention so haven't efforts been made to extend and improve his contract? One would hope so, but we're never told, and there were never any contingency plans for the Snake. It was all very well DC saying he wouldn't go for less than 10 million, but it was kind of inevitable that his 300k release would be triggered, it was just a shame that the Sh1t were the ones to do it. Knowing this, there was no contingency to replace him.
So, if Billy does go, is there a replacement Lined up? I hope so, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hypothetical question - Billy agrees to sign a 1 year extension (i.e. until the end of the 18/19 season) but only on condition that a £500k release clause is included.
Would you agree to it?

Absolutely. Gives us a crack at it again this year and gives us time to make a Plan B for the summer.

I really feel that The loss of Billy Bodin for a small fee, and that is what 250k is, will mark a sea change in our futture course. If we refuse poulty offers and press on with designs for the training ground and stadium, people will remain on side and attendances will remain high (providing we keep doing relatively well) but if Billy goes cheaply I feel all momentum will be lost and we'll be back to Square one. We must keep our best players where possible but if they have to be sold we must obtain fair value for them and recruit accordingly.

Encouraging words from MS tonight in the post match interview. We don't need / want to sell anyone, 1 possibly 2 still to come in before the window shuts.
It comes down to Billy at the end of the day, if he really wants to leave the club then I'm sure they won't stand in his way. All we can do is hope he doesn't want to leave and if he does then ensure that we get a reasonable value for him not some paltry 300K.
Fingers crossed he will stick around at least for the rest of this season, he's our star player now, I know money talks but he only needs to look at what has happened to the snake since he left to see that it does not always work out for the best.
Wish we could just skip to the end of the transfer window right now! UTG!

Love the part when he says "The grass isn't always greener on the other side"
Speaking from experience?

Every club except probably real madrid are a selling club so if an attractive bigger club like cardiff or fulham meet rovers valuation he will surely go? For an undisclosed fee.

Love the part when he says "The grass isn't always greener on the other side" Speaking from experience? Can't remember any of marco's moves being an indicator that it's about him (note - his move to City wasn't a success but it was something he, as a childhood City fan, 'had' to do). More likely about the snake who if he'd stayed could have got a great move last summer and remained a well liked player here...

I don't think Twatty gives a sh** as long he's getting paid so he can do his on line shopping cos he is too scared to go down the shops😜👍

I think the BB situation could be clearer than we realise 1 - Depends of course if BB wants a move 2 - depends if any formal bids are received 3 - If a bid is ridiculous (e.g. the £250k the Smelly mail quoted) then it's very simple to turn it down whatever the answer to number 1 is - BB is worth more than that in goals, assists, ticket sales, goodwill and a happiness feeling. It would also leave us a major player short and no chance of getting a replacement for a decent value. The problem would come if it was a substantially larger bid... OK, maybe not totally clear, but you get the point...

I was just referring to the fact he had spent time at both clubs and was far more successful at Rovers so in his case the grass wasn't greener.
