Stand by stand, paid for by someone else, and/or self financing through sustainable ventures at the ground don’t sound bad to me. It’s only bad if it’s a short term capital return alike to selling land ie to build student accommodation. As once it’s there you’ve lost the ability to do anything with the land and any future earning potential. I'm not saying it's a bad plan, but it's not going to pay to lower or rotate the pitch - or many other things people may be wishing for. It will be done in the cheapest possible way, just like the ridiculous shelters that have been put up to protect the supporters with disabilities from the elements. I demolished a shed in my back garden this year that looked better than those things - and I'm not even joking! At least they put some shelters up. What did the last lot do for the disa led supporters in the past 20 years

Few observations Hani is quickly becoming our pantomime version of the Scrooge without anyone reallllyyy knowing anything about how the family works, aside from some bullshit ITKers which have managed to make his misery evolve from a rumour into perceived fact amongst the gaschat faithful. We’re blaming the club for poor foresight on the adjoining rugby training ground. Wasn’t it already sold when the club got its hands on the Mem? Sold by the poor innocent rugby club who did a great job of managing their own financial affairs? And were trying to keep our mits off the deeds to the land. Either way building the new east stand/end behind the east stand seems the most logical next step. Super exciting. If we don’t fill the place with hotels and student accommodation then we might be able to build something exciting. Perhaps Marvins crazy underground rail plans are all about ferrying the suppporters from all around Bristol to our world class stadium and arena complex? I may have been the one to raise the issue of the old rugby training pitches being sold for housing. Maybe its the way I wrote it (?) but I didn't blame the club at all. After all it was sold before Rovers moved there. It was just the continued irony of things could have been great if only....blah blah had not happened. Which has seemingly dogged Rovers .

Everyone connected to Rovers prior to this year stated the mem is not for for purpose either as a site for redevelopment or in its current form. Everyone prior to this year stated how great UWE was for us.
Suddenly its been flipped over and its clearly a finance issue. I dont expect to see anything happen at the mem until Wael and Hani find a buyer for the club.

Everyone connected to Rovers prior to this year stated the mem is not for for purpose either as a site for redevelopment or in its current form. Everyone prior to this year stated how great UWE was for us. Yeah, but that's just what happens. You back the project you're working on. It's no point saying 'yeah, well we're not totally sold on the UWE deal, coz it's only average but we'll see what happens, maybe,' while pursuing that deal, and similarly you can't say 'well, the Mem is a pretty crappy site but we'll make the best of it, I guess,' while pursuing that avenue. Same as DC doesn't pick Brown and say, 'well, he's a bit sh** at this level and I was thinking about replacing him with Bola' in the same way he doesn't pick Bola and say 'well, Brown's probably better but I promised his manager I'd give him a bit of a run, I guess.' You just back what you're doing at that time. That's just basic press release/interview behaviour.
