This was posted on another page....... Richie Anderson the UWE have come to an 'in principle' agreement to build the stadium with a chinese consortium, former director Ed Ware is part of it with a plan to build additional homes at uwe site and on the Mem ground, interesting news which could go either way depending on whether a chinese consortium sees the opportunity to improve a club or build stadium for various revenue streams of which we would be tenants, time will tell i suppose. So Ed Ware has a very strong financial motive to see the UWE built. Does that effect his judgement as to what would be in the best interests of the football club?

DC tell Jack Vitals “What I do know is that the chairman, Steve Brookfield [finance director], the owners, me and my players are all working very hard to improve this football club. That will continue to be so,” said Clarke.
Seems there are no grumbles from DC about management or the owners.
That seems positive news to me.

Are the negatives stories being put out there to try and force the current owners to sell so that ed ware and the Chinese (white knight) consortium can proceed with their plan?
I can't believe I even wrote that, I'm starting to believe all this crap.

The buyers money was coming from China, there was a huge delay in contracts being exchanged due to HMRC ensuring that it wasn't a case of mony laundering. Just imagine the scenario if the (mythical) consortium are Chinese; how much scrutiny will that attract from the authorities Also all this "white knight" bolloxs; Bristol Rugby club had one remember. Many fans are still not happy he converted them into the egg chasing division of Bristol Sport Ltd "making Bristol proud" Any of you attending the Mem at 11:00 today? If so I will see you there.

I assume the numerous Premiership and Championship clubs plus Northampton owners got around HMRC's checks easy enough. Anyway I wonder why this deal is apparently so attractive to the Chinese but not the ALQ's, perhaps Gasincider could explain as he seems so anti the present owners?

Are you for real 45k? Southampton average around 30k now in the 1st tier. The ideal situation for us would be to have stadium similar to Colchester or Bournemouth. Its not about averages...its about how many you can get in for premium games. City have a 27,000 stadium. They currently average about 19,000 over a season. However for the upcoming Manchester united game im sure the owners wished they had a 50,000 stadium. So man utd could have more than the 2600 tickets they have been given ,could easily shift 5-7000. Also with 15,000 season ticket holders im sure each of those people would be able to buy a ticket for a friend or family member that wanted to go. Then there are the usual pay on the day fans and their extra guests. Then the oh a local team is playing man utd brigade lets go , what colour do Bristol sports wear again I should buy a scarf.
I was surprised at the crowd against Cardiff city as a top of the table severnside derby I was expecting a sell out....not 21000
