We beat a MK Dons team who have not won in 6 games, 2 points from 18 whose fans want the manager out 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 He’s had a budget, we bombed Montano, never replaced him and if Moore is not good enough to start or get on, don’t put him in the squad. It’s onlt the Cup🤔 If montano is so great why is he an unused sub for the team bottom of league 2? He’s a lot better than Moore that’s for certain !

Does anyone know who BlueButterfly is? I wish I could ask Helen, James or Tony whoever he/she is, would they would say this to my face and I would love to know what they do as a job, someone must know? Imagine Tesco saying it’s customers “**** off to Aldi” I can only imagine he’s never been in business before. And as for Polak like the comment, how are you Julian? I like a lot of things my mate in Kingswood says as well 😉 What rovers fan would say "city know about a good cup run and will have 27,000 in a cup match soon"? Our manager has dragged us back to league 1 and increased our attendances considerably but we have well and truly found our level with at best a modest playing budget. Steve lansdown has thrown at least £70m at his club and although were all hoping its just a lucky run they are looking good right now.

I offer no apology. If the poster is so impressed by bristol citys very good form and large attendances which none of us need to be reminded of why dosnt he give them a go? Simple question for a simple person which would you prefer a free Saturday in a couple of weeks time or the chance of winning a cup game and then playing a Premiership side in round 3? How many of us would have "rested" Leads & Harrison tonight, as far as Monty it shows just how poor we are when our best winger from last season can't even get in a Div 2 side this season. He didnt rest harrison or leadbitter though did he? He went for partington possibly because he is arguably a better defensive player than danny and decided to retain nichols and gaffney who did well v mk dons last saturday. The truth is the players will be totally shattered after tonights defeat just as the players would have been v west ham. IMO dc picked what he thought was his strongest team for tonights game.

Its only the cup 😤 - but that is yet more revenue lost to buy new players with in Jan.
We need a defensive leader and a defensive midfielder and until then we will slide further.

It’s only the FA Cup, we never do well in it...... It’s a Mickey Mouse cup the Checkatrade!!! Remember when we were at Braintree and Dover? We could be Tranmere now without Mansell! ================================ * The Chief defensive organiser played again tonight * Not one winger started let alone one decent one in the squad * Played 4 central midfielders again tonight Thankfully we have the first 3 points to rely on, it’s just the cup. Oh sh**, the club down the road appreciate the cup and will have 27,000 watching it in a few weeks🤔 Starting to show signs of a Trollope demise and 4-2, well done Lockyer 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Interesting that you didn’t post a word after we won on Saturday a win that took us to within 4 points of the play offs but you come on here with your sarcastic clappy childish pictures when we lose tonight. Thankfully there are some well balanced posters in here who can see things for what they are and post when we’ve won too.

If you’ve got an open cheque book and keep it open long enough sooner or later you’ll hit the jackpot and get lucky. It doesn’t mean he knows what he’s doing it just means he’s got the money to keep making mistakes until he gets there in the end.

When are people going to stop comparing us to the 82ers.
Lansdown has owned them for 10 years. He's only in the last 3 years delivered them their longest run of championship football, a cup run to shout about and the new stadium.
In the last 3 years we have dragged ourselves up from non league, steadied the ship, got a decent manager who loves us instead of being here for his pay cheque and new owners who are still very much in the planning stages.
And yet we want it all and are comparing ourselves to the red side. We are not even close and we don't even want to go down the road of copying their mantra of throwing as much money at it as possible. Hardly got them anywhere has it. It's finally sunk in with them to back LJ and his vision and suddenly things are clicking.
We are on a rebuilding year. We know we need experienced players and more players for different positions but give DC time.

And therein lies our problem. If you are a current squad member, would you over-perform knowing a good cup run (or promotion) could see you replaced? Would you ****!

Let’s be honest the overwhelming majority of us are delighted about where we are and where we’ve come in such a short space of time and I’m in that majority . Does that mean I want us to stand still ? No course I Dam don’t but we’re going through a transition process and when most clubs do that they f**k up big time . We’re not Dam up big time we’re levelking off. That progress in itself.

Thread title is right it is only the cup it's not the end of the world. Would have been nice to win, but it seems that they wanted it more. Seems like cup games are DC Achilles heel. Still as the losers always say in these circumstances 'now we can concentrate on the league' UTG

Plenty left to play for yet, been supporting since our first season at twerton so I’ve seen enough to know a season can change very quickly in the right or wrong hands. Hopefully we’ll be in DC s hands going in to May.

So who is BB in his pants behind his screen?
Stevey Mow (81) wind your neck in mate, I need to call you Monday re the car but mate, I compare us to 82 because they appreciate the cup and are not happy or proud of a 2-0 up in the cup game turn to defeat.
He rolled the dice again tonight and he got the wrong numbers again.
I actually love DC but not a 4 man central midfield.
Back to BB, age, job, how often he goes, when is the next forum meet up? Want to meet him, it’s all about the banter, I am Paul by the way

Well, this truly was water poor tonight. While we were 2 up I said to a mate sat by me, how the hell havent NC scored. Every time they put a ball in the box in the air, our back line froze, totally froze.
We were lucky not to be on the end of a Northampton type of scoreline. NC had 9 glaring chances to score, and I don't know apart from 2 excellent saves by our keeper, how we weren't dead and buried by half time.
DC looked absolutely devoid of any idea how to stop the rot. The only good thing about this was he was probably showing the interviewer after the match some courtesy and not last weeks ignorant diatribe at Ed Hadwin. Hope the club make him apologise for that. Now he needs to apologise for this dreadful performance. There just seems to be no game plan, and as for performances, well, the undroppable must be dropped, what Wales see in him god alone knows. Brown is well past his sell by date. Partington kept going walk about and not staying in position. Ollie Clark just tries to mouth off every chance he gets and looks like he just wants to be sent off. Can't be bothered with the rest.
NC weren't an excellent side, they just did the simple things like lumping the ball up to the big black guy up front, who despite being a mediocre player could at least get his head on the ball and had two others playing off him. Not like Gaffney who was on his own so often, he must have considered having a wash just in case that was the cause of his loneliness.
Gaffney had our only real chance of note in the second half. About 3 mins from the end he was clean through, and despite there being a defender on the near post decided to smash it as hard as he could straight along the floor at the defender who cleared it without having to move. We have Marcus as a forwards coach, why doesn't he get them to put the ball in the top of the net where a defender cannot block it with his feet?
I truly believe that DC has now taken us as far as he can. His knowledge of players is at league two level and non league. Perhaps that's why we are still playing so many non league players here. The fans are beginning to turn against DC now as evidenced on Facebook tonight. You really had to see this to believe what was, or more importantly wasn't happening. This was worse than Shrewsbury in my eyes. A fairer scoreline could and should have been of the order of 6-2 or 7-2 we really were that bad.

And no sign of any improvement. Our away form is relegation standard, and our home form is slipping. That equals going down, unless things change quickly.

Hope you got home ok OP, Pete Parker still says we don’t need a captain 🤔

When did you start watching rovers? I must admit i thought you were a schoolboy then i remembered you told us all you played in the hellenic league, who did you play for then?

Pretty sure City played 6 consecutive championship seasons between 07-08 to 12-13.
