We are getting the infrastructure of the club in order by overspending money on things behind the scenes that we cannot afford yet so the first team will suffer as the overall budget gets eaten up. That’s how it seems! I’d call that a reckless revolution and not an evolution - an evolution would mean actually getting something done on the stadium! It’s the only way we can evolve as without a bigger stadium and all the income that will bring we can’t afford to do more than what we were previously to this season. The UWE plan falling though has set us back 10 Years plus - and the nonchalance in letting the deal go down the pan and how it all came to light infuriated me and many others. We all know without a new ground we are doomed to drop again eventually as we are not sustainable. I understand we need a miracle for anything to happen quickly but all this speculating of takeovers etc is nuts and surely all unfounded. It’s a shame we need to lower our expectations when they were probably at their highest! We really need some communication from wael but his silence has been deafening. The blame lies solely with the al qadi family and hamer! Please just communicate and be honest with us! It would save many others a lot of unessessary sh*t! Everyone’s downer related to the club from fans to staff is down to them and they just need to communicate and show us some honesty and reassure us either way. We can take it on the chin! Remove the cloaks!

Good post and for a change I will actually back up most of what is said here as I have heard similar things. I still maintain my opinion that the UWE deal was not a good deal for the club. I still also take issue that the current owners do not have the money. I think that they are very careful with money and may play brinkmanship in terms of paying everything only when absolutely necessary but that does not mean there is no money. I also don't have any faith that any of the previous incumbents are the answer to any potential problems we may or may not have. Disagree sorry, more attention seeking drivel

It is looking more and more likely that some, if not all our previous board of directors are looking to become directly involved again in our club. It is almost like their names are being drip fed to see what the reaction of our fans will be. NH was mentioned by a long term fan at Scunthorpe on the weekend, which staggered me. Eddie Ware of course cropped up in conversations on here recently. Now Chris Jelf has been added to the list, presumably as the acceptable face of the previous board. Our previous board could not raise the funding to put in place the stadium that we desperately need, but there does seem to be some mileage in the idea that they are looking to work with the rumoured Far East investors that seem to be circling, in order to build the stadium. Whilst we would all love to see a new stadium, which is what we thought we were getting from our current owners, the potential pitfall with this, looking at other clubs with Far Eastern investors, is how they are faring. Wolves for instance are going well, but others are not. Of course, with any new owners, the issue of cost to the club has to come to the fore. Rent/leasehold costs (Coventry City comes to mind) etc etc could kill us, but so could the lack of a quality stadium. Our former directors didnt succeed last time they were here, so I'm not confident that they can this time. There is an alternative group interested in taking us on, so it will be mighty interesting to see what is on offer from both. Whatever the future holds, one thing is for sure in my opinion. That is that the Mem will not be redeveloped, and it looks highly unlikely that the Colony will be redeveloped anytime soon. The losses are rocketing, so progress on a stadium is absolutely vital to ensure the future of our club. Well when they finally make their minds up could you tell them to stop whispering to supporters behind closed doors knowing someone will plaster it all over social media and make a professional announcement of intent. Until then please pass on to them to stop their childish games as a lot of our supporters are frankly fed up to the back teeth of their amateur attempts to cause gossip. Many thanks. This.....

As regards to the nonchalance in letting the UWE deal collapse the ALQ's spent 18 months trying to agree a deal, once again we just don't know why it collapsed. I'm not really sure what you are expecting them to communicate or what will satisfy you, as I assume if Wael repeated what SH told the SC AGM last month fans will still not be happy until the club submits plans for the The Colony and the UWE.

I also think it's the source of much of the unrest and misinformation being bandied about. Whilst I agree with the general flavour of the OP, I did outlay some things I didn't necessarily support. I respect the OP here because he has at least layed out a narrative and offered some explanation and background. Just my opinion, but it's a much healthier way to raise talking points than dropping veiled hints.

I find the whole situation heartbreaking and at this sad moment in time, I can see no light at the end of this dismal tunnel that we are all descending down.
No one but those in power truly know what is going on and these continuous spontaneous rumours just feed everyone's anxiety.
The answer - Wael needs to step up to the mark, but is he simply too embarrassed to do so?
We need more than a one sentence comment about evolution not revolution is required,.. don't hold your breath waiting.

Higgsie and all the old names back, no, I do not think so. This drivel is back on the table because nobody from the club wants to speak to the supporters. Where is twentypence when you need him ?, he gets prickly anytime some trys to talk down the **** on his light weight radio show, surely he should man up and call out WAQ. The silence is deafening. Is Hamer still at the club, what the **** has he ever done for BRFC ?

I've said before... But the silence is not deafening... You can ask Wael yourself, he often responds.
Why is it that all gasinciders posts deserve comment from Wael?

You would have to be a complete idiot to read the published facts any other way. Now we could all be very surprised at the next set of accounts to find that the debt owed to Dwane Sports has been converted to equity but as the end of the last financial year has passed and this would rank as very positive news then I'm going to positively say this hasn't happened (that's my opinion to be clear, though the first paragraph is fact).

Some posters on here are more credible than others and have a history of providing good information over a long period of time. I've a pretty good recall of that and I also look at who likes certain posts of these posters and of other unreliable ones. It's probably a by product of a barely managed OCD So to the question in hand. It's pretty clear that several posters (including reliable ones) have alluded to board room unrest from the previous incumbents. Posters on here who know ex directors have also provided information that they are unhappy or have concerns. One poster wrote to Steve Hamer who also confirmed that ex employees are making trouble. Just because I don't go in for breaking stories, name dropping or pretending to know more than I do, I do still hear snippets of information from time to time. I don't post this information here because often I am either unable to corroborate it or feel it may not always be the best thing to do. I'm not keeping information to myself I might add. I don't think I can ever recall a time when I've known something that hasn't already been posted on here. What I am able to do is put together a picture in my mind about what is going on based on what is said and who said it. It's not always right, but generally not a million miles away. To me it's nailed on that for whatever reason there is a falling out between some of the old guard and the new owners. The reasons for that are still a little murky. Some would have us believe it's because the AQs have pulled the plug. Others suggest it's because some of the old board are now looking to miss out on a potentially big financial gain from the development of the UWE and redevelopment of the Mem. What is clear and what most of us are in agreement on is how long will the current owners continue to keep us in the dark. All this stuff is having a negative effect on the club and needs to be addressed.

There is a phrase in football "never go back" and in the majority of cases this is good advice. Would I be happy with a return to the previous board ?.....absolutely not. They had their chance and successfully took the club into non league football ,made fools of themselves over the Sainsburys shananigans . Why don't they try Mangotsfield united or Bristol manor farm instead.

Would that suffice? And how long until you’d need reassurances again?

January window and Colony deadline approaching..... I have no faith whatsoever in the previous board regardless of our current financial state so I'm not all that bothered if they are mischief making other than the current negative impact on our club and it's fans. Everyone needs to stop playing their little games. I have argued on this and other Boardroom threads of late because I feel strongly that some of the things being said should not go unchecked. Maybe I'm making it worse and we should all take a leaf out of WAQs book, just ignore it, say nothing and carry on regardless.

Forgive me if I’m incorrect. But the most recent set of accounts we have avaliable to the public are June 2016? At this point, there was no loan against the Mem, and Wael at al. Had only taken control for the final 4 months. Mind, I’m not expecting to see a great financial improvement. But I don’t read the “facts” as yourself... I do agree we’re loss making - and that looks set to continue.

He gave Higgs a very rough ride in an interview about the Sainsbury's contract, and recently questioned Wael regarding the talk of unpaid bills. He is a sports journalist, not Roger Cook.

At the last set of accounts there was a £10m revolving credit facility agreed between the football club and Dwane Sports which at that time was not secured against the Mem, that has happened since. As Wael (I believe it was him) as confirmed this and hasn't said anything about converting debt to equity it is fairly safe to assume that thus hasn't happened imo. If you read the facts differently why are we both reaching the same conclusion that we are loss making? Odd

And where will that investment come from, yourselves, borrowing or other investors? Without that substance the statement is meaningless just like a L2 manager playing away in the cup to Chelsea saying they have come to win the match

They want to be loved and certainly have no interest in investigative journalism or even pressing the difficult questions. I don't think those of us wanting answers will get any help from local jurnalists and I just don't know what will break-down this wall of silence that is frustrating to so many of us.
