Sod budgets and infrastructure etc - it’s 11 men vs 11 men! Just make sure our 11 men perform better! That’s the product and that’s what people pay to see! Sort that and you sort this mess! 11 men don’t need money to play football! what?? Yeh 11 men V 11 better men

Steve Hamer has ****ed up with some of his statements and is certainly partly to blame for the current feelings around the club.
"We have a top 6 budget" "Landing gear is down for the new stadium" "We hope to be using the new training ground by the summer".
Gets everyones expectations up, and then obviously people will panic and question when the above doesn't materialise.
Was he lying or deluded?

The thing I find confusing in all this is the owners must know by now that there is quite a swell of discontent from the fan base. If so they could right a big part of that in one statement. I’m not saying they need to tell us ever little detail every week but if there is plans to remodel the Mem then even if they’re in there infancy they could surely tell us who they’re speaking too about designing it etc.
Similarly in other aspects of the club running, surely to say something of substance is better than people making up their own minds based upon who told who what, when and why?
It doesn’t make sense to stay quiet unless the rumours are true. They nay we’ll be laughing about all the nonsense spouted on here and the terraces but if so, why not just say so.
I don’t agree when people say why does everyone feel they need to know this that and the other because a football club IS the supporters in many ways.
I don’t have an opinion one way or the other on whether we’re all getting our pants pulled down and there’s no money etc, but there is one way all the rumours could’ve put to bed. Surely it’s in the best interest of the club for that to be done?

I don't see what DC criticising Status Quo has to do with anything - I'm not a fan either They keep telling him he's going down down. I think DC is watered off cos he was told he could have whatever he wants

I stopped reading the OP at £4m!!! 😀
Bar the odd club, I'd say we are about where we should be. We'd be a "big" club in L2 and about average in L1.
Paul Buckle was wrong when he told us to lower our expectations in L2, but he'd be right if he said it now. There are a dozen teams in L1 that are better equipped for the Championship.
We simply don't have the money to compete & never have done.
£4m for transfers!!! What a joke!!! If you belive that, you'll believe anything.

The op meant i believe a £4m playing budget,ie wages, which would have put us in the top 6 approx budget wise.

Dead right. But I was asked the question. If you don't like it don't read it. In truth on this occasion, in this thread, you asked yourself the question. “I was asked recently what I hoped to achieve by going public with various bits of info from behind the scenes.” I was asked if i was hungry earlier. I wasn’t hungry, starving. But i was certainly able to eat.

In league 1 an owner can make a donation to the club that will count as part of the clubs turnover as long as the owner dosnt expect to get the money back. so a steve lansdown type of owner can make a mockery of ffp in league 1. Yes this is true. But are we criticising ‘the top’ for not chucking their money at us. Whilst at the same time laughing at Bristol City for doing so. Some fans (not accusing BB, here) come over a little- Daddy won’t buy me a PlayStation... blah wahh wahh. Not at one point has the manager criticised the budget- so why is this being raked up? Why would the Manager "criticise the budget". he spent the best part of £500k in the close season. He's 'cocked up' big time and he knows it. He has the January window to get it right or sadly he could be 'toast' come season end. This is a pretty weak gutless team he's assembled and it's all down to him I'm afraid.

At saturdays shambolic game I was given information from a club member that our manager was promised a playing budget of £4 million in the summer for a big push for championship football. He then signed his 5 year contract exstension but has not seen any of this money appear. If this is true then he/we have been badly let down.when Hamer made the “top six budget statement” it makes you wonder if He was lied to also! What the hell on?is going What is going on is people like you are making up fake rubbish and putting it on forums like this. You are doing our Club no good at all and should desist If you continue to claim this is correct then NAME the club member - if you say you can't then you or he/she must be a liar

Clever use of wording and punctuation that allows the poster to back track and withdraw the moment someone with any common sense challenges the guff that's written.

It's hard to dispute this. By adding players like Sercombe, Nichols, Bola, Telford - he's brought in players who play good football but they don't have much grit and physicality about them. We get bullied by too many teams - right across the park. And as regards headerers of the ball we really are p*** poor here - Leads, Lines, Parts, Brown - they simply are very weak at it. It's going to be a hard slog till Jan and maybe beyond.

Somewhere in between malicious, unsubstantiated rumours and silence lies the truth. In the know or not in the know? It's all a load of crap. The truth will out, one day, only worry about the things you can change. Back into my shell, winters here now...........

Apologies for the history lesson, the Ems Telegram was doctored to deliberately act as the cassus belli of the Franco-Prussian war. Its legacy was a distrust between Germany and France that brought opposing alliances triggering the First World War, punishing reparations later used to foster hatred bringing about the Second World War, the rise and fall of communism and fascism and 10s of millions dead. Who said punctuation doesn't matter?🤓

I have it on good authority that Ronaldo was going to join us if the UWE deal went ahead. Since the deal broke down, Ronaldo have only scored 1 league goal in 8 games. Our board have let Ronaldo down too.
