Catch 22 though, does the club get in a load of stock in the hope they'll eventually sell it, or make sure they'll sell out what stock they are getting in. They seemed to have loads of shirts on Saturday so it's not like there's nothing left to purchase for Christmas presents. Shirts but no shorts or socks. 2 Mile Hill have not had away kits in all season.

With respect Henbury, you cannot reconcile running a football club with your business or even my business. If I say to people/customers what my plans are, the common response would be, well good for you, or I hope it goes well. Or, what a smug git showing off! The minority would be interested and be pleased for you. If you or I went bust it would be, what a shame, used to like using them for X reasons, now where else can I go? Would anyone really care? If the football team does badly its depressing, grown men cry at relegation, why the club is still in business? Because you invest in it. Because of that football clubs have supporters which are like shareholders in a way, they all put something into the club, its based on emotion and we want to see it do well. The customer bit then comes in on the additional revenues, food and drink, shirt sales etc. But the turnstile entry is what gives us the right to ask the board what is going on when its clear things aren't right, don't make sense or when we want to see what sort of future is mapped out for us. Thats why managers time is often called when the supporters make it vocally known its time for a change. Gashead1981- you've raised lots of interesting viewpoints. But in fairness it was you who originally compared your own business to the situation at rovers. I don't think anyone on this forum disagrees that as fans we carry a level of investment and all on this forum believe their piece is worth something else wise they wouldn't be contributing... There aren't many chairmen that have ever said this is the plan- and actually been able to achieve it? We do need to be making progress and training ground developments will be curious. A plan, maybe not. But they haven't even set out a vision.

I think there is a lot of doom and gloom around the people who work in the shop at the moment Maybe they know something we don't know (yet) Maybe it's something to do with what the SC know, but won't tell us Must be the gagging order placed on them then

I didn’t compare actually, I said I was in business myself, and not to the level of the ALQs, but if you are serious in expanding any business you can draw together plans to do so, and it doesn’t take an enormous amount of time or effort to do so. You can then have a pointed cost outlined, set that against your own budget and then you know exactly how much cap ex you will need to raise from investors. It can also be short, medium and long term plans. Wael said it takes time, which it can, but the initial consultation, architect and final drawing phase doesn’t. Planning and usuage is what takes the real time, with no doubt nimby process and potential JR to go through if we know the local lot like we do so why waste time waiting to do that. If there is no plans, money or investment to do anything in the next 18 months, that’s fine, but we can do everything else now and go about raising investment whilst the planning phases are being done. It would answer some really straight forward questions like, do we need to move the pitch acres or just meters? Do we need to turn it through 90’? What stand do we do first? How much retail space do we need? Where do we put hospitality? How are we going to manage if we do the East stand first? That is what takes time so why not do it in this dead phase? If that gets done in the next 3 months we can see the vision as fans what we are looking to achieve and it will consolidate all the speak we are getting about evolution and being in it for the haul. I’m not an architect, but I know a good few people that are and I know what sort of projects they work on and most of the above could be done in a couple of weeks tops.

I don't understand why people are complaining that the toilets are being updated. It was one of the things people wanted when asked for suggestions. A quote from the club news article giving the outcome of asking for suggestions: To me, this means they are listening and doing what they can. Quote taken from here: www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2017/september/22.09.17---suggestion-box/

And so they will have their refurbished toilets at The Dump. Rovers are a bigger joke now than ever, primarily because of the owners background. Which means nothing as we all know.

I think where we differ is the assumption that outside financing is required. I'm of the opinion that they won't require this.

"We will be moving the shop" - in other words closing down the one in Kingswood, selling the building, keeping the cash to cover Nichols and bringing in another Porta-cabin in the car park next to Ian Holtby's office! lol!

The club do not own the shop in Kingswood, The Supporters club sold it some time ago and lease it back... Why just get rid of Ian Holtby to Santa's Grotto and use his office as a Internet shop

This is what I think Wael should have said; Training ground The initial plan was to build it all in one go, following the UWE collapse we are taking stock so will start the project shortly with a phased approach instead. Phase 1 will start once we have appointed a project manager which will be shortly with a main building and four pitches. Phases 2 and 3 will be added when time, finances and needs allow. Once concluded, the final plan will include (insert as required). It remains our intention to having a category 2 standard academy in due course. Mem redevelopment We are consulting with the council, residents and architects as to what could be achieved. We are looking at an end state of about 18-20,000 capacity and need to reevaluate the commercial aspects to see what is required and at what price. We may look at a phased approach here too with an initial construction of one new stand with further stands to come afterwards or for a total rebuild over a couple of seasons. We are looking forward to fans making their own suggestions so we get their input too which is vitally important to us. It is vital that we get this right first time so not to lose more ground on our competitors and it will take time before firm plans can be made public, but we will keep fans informed as soon as possible. January transfer budget DC knows what he has available and we will continue to support him in getting those players he wants. Rumours There are many rumours circulating around football clubs and on social media, we are no different to anyone else in that respect as people want to know things are progressing. If I answer one rumour it gives credibility to that rumour and then when I don't respond then it will appear there is something to hide. For that reason it is best I don't respond. Commitment We will be here for the long term, it remains our aim to have the training ground, stadium and team ready for sustained Championship football over the next 3-5 years. Events and practicalities will affect the actual timings so could happen sooner or take longer, but that is our medium term goal. Once that is achieved, we can take it from there. Communication I admit there have been issues here which have fuelled the rumours in the first place. We need to improve here and as a starting point I would ask fans to submit questions to the club and we will endeavour to provide a written monthly Q&A. We can't answer all questions so will look at maybe the most common 10 and there may be sound commercial reasons for retaining silence on some but we will trial this from January. This is why I was suggesting that the owners actually had a presentation ,rather than the casual interviews. Long term plans could be put forward ,the current situation explaned and what will happen over the short term.

Unless they are going to present plans for a new stadium what football ever holds presentations? If Wael did then no doubt he'd be met with the usual "I believe it when I'm sat in it" & "it's all just PR" etc. Only time now will really tell if Wael/ALQ's have the real desire to see the project though or will just now throw in the towel, if they do then we're really back to where we were when the last Mem plans fell through which was well over 5 years ago.

At 30th June 2010 Rovers owed the bank and brewery a total of £1.5 million, the directors a total of £2.5 million and we were losing £1 million per year. Today we owe Dwane Sports £12 million and we are losing around £2 million per year. So we are in a far worse state now than we were when the last Mem redevelopment plans fell through. And no one knows what the "project" is because all we have been given are vague ramblings about a training ground like Fleetwood's which is having to be scaled down because reality has kicked in and a redevelopment of the Mem which the Chairman is recommending be done stand by stand but he is not sure whether Dwane Sports agree with him about that.

I will be buying him a Liverpool kit for Xmas because I cannot buy him a Rovers away kit.

But whose fault is the massive increase in debts the ALQ's or the previous BoD, who seem to have bet and lost on the UWE/Sainsbury's, as debts were already around £10m when NH sold up. God knows why the ALQ's took on such a (financial) suicide pass.
