I'll have what you're smoking please! What would you sell him for? For me, I’d rather keep him than get a pittance. 6 months of Billy is better than few hundred thousand pound. Only if he wants to play for us during that 6 months...........

Word on the street I heard Saturday was that we would rather keep him until the summer and lose him for free than sell him, potentially be dragged into a relegation dog fight without him or pay an over inflated price for someone to replace him with no guarantees of him slotting straight into the side and doing well. We all know how DC works.
BB is a fantastic attacking midfielder who I see more as a winger who can come inside to do more damage.

There is a possibility that we win a couple of games, climb the table a bit and then the temptation would be to sell Bodin late in the window. I certainly wouldn't let him go now. For instance, say we got 6pts from the next 3 games. We would have 38pts from 29 and would realistically need a point a game until the end of the season to be safe. If you knew he was going anyway the temptation would be to cut your losses, but personally I probably wouldn't have the balls to do it having seen us crumble before. That's exactly how I feel. Hope we have a good Jan. It would be good for both of us if he does well in Jan. Then sell him at the end of the window. At least then we will get something for him. The thing is he could easily get injured between now and the end of the season anyway.

Only way I'd sell is on 2 conditions: 1. Fee must be at least 1m (got to make it worth a replacement 2. All of the 1m must be given directly to DC to spend in this window Otherwise, no deal.

He's fought back from bad injuries in the past, he doesn't seem the sulking sort

We've definitely bid for him. Whether it actually happens we'll just have to wait and see.
No disrespect but given that you look likely to finish mid-table, would you really turn down decent money and lose him for free in the summer, when you would like to strengthen your own squad and a bit of extra cash would help with that?

Likely to finish mid table if he stays. Judging by our form when he was injured, we could easily be in a relegation scrap if he left.

I don’t want to sell him but 500k plus and the owners will accept a deal tbh - hope they set lots of add ons! I hope there is a bidding war as then we can command a higher fee. Either way he’s off unfortunately!

No disrespect, but PNE (albeit, great club and fans) are also not all that when you’re looking at the hot hottest prospect in the division below. We can bide our time. He won’t be in a rush- in the summer, he’ll have a pick as a free agent.

So Now, hold on, Mr. Northend. Yous right when you say our club is no big shieks (private joke there). We know that. Why we ever started this cheap, penny-ante club I'll never know. But neither yous nor anyone else can say anything against our character or ambition, because , why... why, in the 135 years since we started this thing, we never once thought of ourselves. Isn't that right Gasheads? We didn't make enough money to keep our own youngsters, let alone build a stadium!. But we did help a few people enjoy a game of football Mr. Northend, and what's wrong with that? Why... you, you're only a fan yourself!! Does it make you better citizens? You... you said... what'd you say a minute ago? We'll have ta wait an lose him in th summer? Let me tell you we've had to wait and save our money before, we've staved off bankruptcy i tell you an we still got by an paid our way, we didnt shirk our responsibilities like others did. An you want us ta wait, Wait? Wait for what? Until our children grow up and leave them a crumby team ta follow? Until they're so old and broken down that they... Do you know how long it takes us ta raise £500k? Just remember this, Mr. Northend, that this rabble you're talking about... they do most of the working and paying and living and dying in our community. Well, is it too much to have them work and pay and live and die an watch a half decent team on their days off? Anyway, i don't think so. People are all human beings to me. But to you, a warped, frustrated Northend fan who lingers hope of restoring your team to old glories with yer cheque book waving in th air like some big time charlies we're just seen as desperate. Well in my book, our club is a richer one than yours will ever be! Oh, Happy new year by th way.

Plus, why the hell would he want to move somewhere like Preston?
I agree with madgas, unlike the snake he will have more 'up top'; finish the season well where he is settled and then take his pick in the summer.
I bet deep down even the snake wishes he'd done that now.

Hi PNE, Bodin is a good skillful, player and a good finisher, but can sometimes go missing in action like a lot of flair players, imagine good coaches would find a way to neutralize him at championship level, we had a 20 plus goal a season striker( whose name i cant bring myself to print) who signed for a unmentionable championship club and has barely had a kick since, so not convinced Bodin can make the step up. good luck for rest of season, great win at trashton gate by the way!

Why doesn't anyone throw decent money at us, why is ALWAYS derisory bids? Because we have a reputation? Because we don't offer long enough contracts? To be fair a few years ago everyone criticised the club for giving long contracts and then being stuck with players who didn’t care for club but were happy to pick up a pay cheque. I guess it’s the balance of not being stuck with overpaid rubbish and risking losing someone who comes good like Bodin has.

Bodin would likely love to come here though, as we have been around the playoffs in a division above for the last two seasons and look like having another push now.
