One article I read suggested the hanger in question was just inside the city council boundary. Not sure if it is true, this was an EP article. Yeah, weird border. The whole site is in SG, except a couple of hangars in Bristol, (southwest of the black line). That map just shows how absolutely diabolical it is that the Airfield which is next to a railway and a motorway is not Bristol International Airport.
Bristol. The city where the train station is nowhere near the bus station, the shopping centre is nowhere near the city centre, and the airport is nowhere near anything!

It would be ok if we filled in that muddy ditch at the side. Great idea. That would mean flooding the City ground! As the new cut was built to enable the floating harbour to work by the simple principle of diverting the Avon when the tide came in and therefore avoid flooding Hotwells and Ashton Gate.

I think we should get to work straight away. I’ve got a few spades a couple of shovels 2 wheel barrows. Who’s in ?

Get sponsor from Aerospace & we will be out of this world!!

It's all just Bristol, isn't it really?

It’s a bit the other way around in as much as north of the river Avon is historically Gloucestershire except for the bit that was claimed by the city and county of Bristol way before the built up area extended as far north as Filton.

Only one problem for Bristol City Council. It’s not in Bristol. Sorry to disagree with you but only part of the airfield is in South Glos. There is a railway line that runs in front of the Brabazon hanger, the hanger side of the track is in Bristol, the airfield side is in South Glos. The area I am refering to is where concorde was parked for years.

If the council are dead set on moving the Arena (which is a mistake in my opinion) why don't we look at the arena site? It has great transport links and is walkable from my house. Not that many pubs around, but they'll soon open and best of all its walkable from my house. In all seriousness the council will need someone to take on the site. It's too small. Barely bigger than the Mem site, but the wrong shape. Just make the pitch narrower, we don’t got no wingers.

Isn't that land aleady earmarked for housing or something? Yes. 6000 houses built in 3 phases plus shops, doctors, school etc etc. Going to be a nightmare with all the extra traffic.

If you could build an arena stadium you could call it the Concorde Stadium and draw in all sorts of aviation related sponsorship.

If you could build an arena stadium you could call it the Concorde Stadium and draw in all sorts of aviation related sponsorship. Or the home end bar the Concord Concourse.
