Why did they, he, buy us? Well, a wealthy guy, who loves his football, has involvement in the Sport in his own Country, with clients and friends who are also heavily involved with club ownership, decides why not own a Football Club? No need to go all out and just go part ownership of a Championship Club, nice little well supported down on their luck club will do nicely. Looking for a return on his money? Would be nice but not sure that's why he bought us. Prestige? Well yes, great bragging points to say he owns a Football Club. I'd like to think he's here to make a difference, and a difference to the club he now owns. May take time, infact, it will take time, but there's been no evidence to suggest he's bought us to make a quick buck. I'm sure he's got plenty if other ways to increase his wealth. So he's our owner, we're his club. No argument or upset from me. But that's not the impression you get from DC as I can't imagine he'll be happy just to tread water managing a mid table Div 1 side indefinitely. Plus why did Wael spend a fortune on consultants trying to get the UWE built, that's hardly a ground for your typical mid table Div 1 side? Perhaps he's had to scale back his plans once the UWE plans bit the dust but I sense when initially he bought he hoped it would become a Championship side in a few years time.

Agree with gas365 We should be so much more. We need an owner that at least likes football more than camel racing and if he finds it possible invest some money in the running of club and players. Come on you old Pirates tell the Arabs what we think, imo they are a waste of time and we haven't got much time.

So he's our owner, we're his club. No argument or upset from me. An apt description yet a depressing one too. Is that all we are? A nice little club perfect for a nice little man of no particular means and influence, run in a nice little way just scraping to get by and see how far that takes us. Is this what this club deserves? Have we got the owner that we deserve? And that is where the problem starts because everyone has a different answer. Some are just happy to still be in business so an owner like Wael is a tidy fit and regarded as a saviour. Me, I think the story of nice little Wael buying a nice little club is very small time. We should be better and bigger than this, I would say we deserve better given our average gates and consistently taking big numbers to Wembley. Wael is the perfect owner for Accrington imo, but he is out of his depth at a club with our potential. We could be so much more and yet probably never will. Why should we be bigger and better? Because of an 8k home crowd? As for suggesting he's out of his depth, that's just insulting. Again.
So, in your opinion, going back to the thread topic, why do you think the Al-Qadi family bought us?

Why not go the whole way and tell him to take the towel off his head?
Some of our lot, seriously.

Why did the Al-Qadi family buy BRFC?
Apparently to kill off the prestigious UWE project and finally end any hope of Rag Bag Rovers becoming a credible competitor to BCFC.
"No one is talking about Bristol Rovers anymore".
Job done.

"No one is talking about Bristol Rovers anymore". Job done. I appreciate the sentiment in that. But if our trip to the depths of despair and back in the last few years shows anything it shows that even in the face of adversity, and much to Lansclown's annoyance YOU'LL NEVER GET RID OF THE GAS

"No one is talking about Bristol Rovers anymore". Job done. Yeah, maybe the Al-Qadis were sent by Lansdown (given they probably know each other in financial circles) to finally put an end to BRFC as a competitor to BCFC. Genius plan. In case it's not clear, I'm being ironic.

I am sure they Don't otherwise they would be cracking on with building a new ground somewhere. I know the reply is obvious, but I'll make it anyway. Bouremouth didn't build a new ground. They tarted up the old stadium. Lets not forget that Bournemouth are looking to move to a 25000 stadium as soon as possible. The main reason ? They don't own their current ground . They say it is not good for the long term future of the club to not own its own stadium.

And your input is helping it how? Helping ? What help do you need ? I just don't see why you feel the need to post what you did. If you think it's sh1t, fair enough - either don't read it anymore or put some thought into what you post. Simply stating it's sh1t adds nothing of value in my opinion.

Is it the 40,000 who couldn't wait to get to Wembley wave their scarves and sing Irene
or
the 2000 who could be bothered to go to Twerton park when things looked grim
?

I literally cannot understand all the negative sh1t from people on here. Look at our history. There has never been a better time to be a gashead. So much potential. Owned by financially savvy and stable people. Playing at our own ground. Decent attendances. A young manager with a 49.2% win rate (better than Eddie Howe, less than 1% behind Jurgen Klopp). F*cking hell it is LUSH being a gashead right now.
Typical pessimist Bristolians always finding something to bitch about.
