Inconsistency in this squad is more like it. It only needs a few injuries or a few poor results and we will be nearer the bottom than the top- again. DC is now back to telling us we are only a few points behind last season- he was telling us this every week nearer the start of the season but at that time it was 6 points better off,3 points better off then the same then suddenly stopped as we got worse and worse. This transfer window has been a disaster ,last summer was poor. What is DC doing? His best I would imagine Steve, after all, he lets the club know who he wants & its up to them ( and the player ) to get them in the door.

“These are actually good times to be a Gashead” don’t make me laugh it was the previous regime that Clarke was employed by that gained us 2 promotions not the new owners, we are no better off than at any time in the past , in fact worse because before we had hope but that has now pretty much completely evaporated May as well jack it in, init? Does make me laugh on here that if anyone says what their thinking on here and tells it how it is the instant reply is “oh god let’s kill ourselves” ha or same as above”might as well jack in” I think the fans on here venting frustration shows you the passion they have? Not to just sit here and go oh well nevermind

I think we all know DC and his teams are ace but we could with an executive push get to the Championship. Too many Rovers fans don't know any better than L1 or L2 and think ambition is a dirty word or don't realise they deserve better.... cue the, yeah buts....

This club lacks so much ambition it’s depressing Ambition is fine if you have the means to back it up. I'd like a Ferrari and Elle MacPherson (not necessarily in that order) but just having the ambition won't make it happen. wael and dc said we need 4 players to improve the squad after our best player was sold,no wonder Ellis is running round like a blue arsed fly he wants to get out too

im happy we have added someone of his experience but he was free. Good business or bargain basement ?
better than nothing but a bit of a "meh" signing really.
Only a a Meh signing if he doesn’t do much in a Rovers shirt. He hasn’t played a game yet. I think I’ll wait and see him play a bit before I decide if he’s a good signing.

In that case SH should come out and say DC is talking nonsense as he was simply not going to be given the budget to bring in 3 or 4 permanent players, it's a bit like the UWE, expectations built only to be knocked crashing down again.

Shambles. Might yet be proved wrong. But we are now failing to sign players, we are being told 4 players then it is 2 and as it stand nobody has come through the door. There is something seriously wrong with the club. Whatever way you look at it. Even if Tony Craig signs. Are we really showing signs of evolution? It is absolutely no different from 10 years ago they way are doing things. Understand the frustration but at that time we were signing lots on 3 year deals, any old c***. Now it’s completely different we’re not signing anyone! 😉 UT*!

Does anyone have anything other than hope that we will do something tonight?

It's probably not the best January transfer window we could of had and I still think we could have done with a CM.
Having said that I'm happy that we have addressed the situation out wide and added some much needed experience to the back line.

Craig now confirmed as signed, if we get Bennett as well then apart from a DCM it will have been more or less what I expected. Although it looks like the ALQ's must have banked most of BB's money if DC did keep some of his budget back for January.

In my view, DC and the Board have maneuvered a good piece of business. Three good standard players in without having to pay a transfer fee. Makes DC ahead of the game amongst managers who spend fortunes. He is learning well

Makes DC ahead of the game amongst managers who spend fortunes. He is learning well I agree. Three permanents is good business. Obviously the proof of the pudding will be whether they do the business on the pitch. We are still a DCM and a striker short, in my opinion. But if Leads gets fit soon then Parts can slot back into what looked a good role for him, and the striker situation is down to Nichols disappointing so far, unfortunately. For numbers, we're ok. We have to hope that Ellis and Gaffers can stay fit.

Well, I'm thinking back to the sell of BB and Steve Hamer saying "I'm just on my way to discuss signings with DC now". Then DC says, "I've given them 3 lists, Waitrose, Aldi and Poundland" BB was a CDM. We sign a young winger/forward from Non-League, and then yesterday we sign a released winger from Portsmouth and a 32 year old released defender from Millwall. So where is the replacement for BB? Surely we didn't spend all £400k on Mensah? Even the Poundland list should of had a BB replacement on it shouldn't it? It looks to me like all 3 lists were turned down by the board and we went to Feeder Market instead? !!!!!!!!! The Jordanians are simply leaving the lights on and throwing 50p in the meter when they sell a player. With the state that this club is in that simply isn't viable moving forward. Disappointed isn't the word. Resigned is more appropriate.

Mensah is a winger (future starlet apparently) Craig is a defender. You're picking at bones to say they're released. Bennett signed a 3 year contract in the summer and Craig was on the bench the other day, not playing with the kids. They were release so that they could join us. I doubt Ipswich are frustrated in the same way about Carayol (which is exactly the same situation as our 2) In terms of quality though, I'm not overly sure we've strengthened that much. However, we've definitely got enough to finish midtable & now we have good depth. DC should get the full money from Bodin + new season budget in the summer so lets judge that more. If we don't replace players in the summer then sure, lets go crazy. But for now, this is not horrendous.

Just because we didn't spend all of the Bodin transfer fee on a direct replacement doesn't mean we haven't replaced him. Two wingers in addresses concerns about lack of width, and in terms of wages, surely the combination of all three newcomers is more than what Bodin was on?

Could you say that again? or perhaps you are too embarrassed? You could just admit to being so wrong

DC addresses the wide player criticism, adds an experienced head to a young defence, and people are unhappy.
