Lets be thankful for small mercies!! At least we have two experienced heads and hopefully a new starlet which we didn't have before the window. I agree in the perfect world we would have another striker and a defensive midfielder but that business can be done in the summer where maybe we will get better value. The plusses at the moment are that Smith is now looking a good keeper, Broadbent is getting better and better, Lines, Ollie Clarke and Sinclair can all do jobs and maybe with Bennett hopefully being a first choice it will mean the three of them fighting for positions with Sercombe and also surely we will soon have Mensah unleashed as well. Craig will add valuable experience at the back which will hopefully stabilise the others and maybe (hopefully) a change to a more attacking formnation may even provide Nicholls with the sort of service he needs. I am feeling more optimistic now than yesterday afternoon. Bring on the Shrews!!

Fair enough with the counter comments. Let's see what happens with the players that we have brought in.
Things just don't feel right though. It does feel like this is all a bit of a sham. Maybe it is because all of the massive hype when the takeover happened, coinciding with a double promotion? Since then it seems to be a lot of negative stuff, UWE collapse with no plan B, Snakegate, the colony debacle, rumours galore, lack of concrete news, Hani's dislike of football, BB leaving etc.
Consolidation it is this season. Let's just hope we have 3 Sercs and not 3 Nichols!

How many games have they played at L1 or above ? They're not standout for me - I know Bielik is a super talented Polish player but Polish outfield players generally don't like the physical English game - will be interested to see if he copes. He's a physical player who likes a tackle and coped ok in a Championship relegation battle. Lloyd Jones has played 34 times in League One, Flynn Downes has played 10 times in the Championship, Nathan Thomas has played once in the Championship and twice in the SPL (also 96 times in L2), Makasi is yet to make a league appearance, but has played a few games for West ham in the cups and is a highly-rated physically strong player who like a battle. You've backed up my impressions (very little experience) - much rather we have Craig and Bennett. Hopefully, Mensah will get some sub appearances and a few games at the end.

I'm happy with Craig, but would have had Jones over him myself. I'd have had Thomas over Bennett all day long, but hopefully DC and Marcus will work their magic on the lad. Good luck to them both.

I really don't see the problem or understand the desperation on this forum to sign players. It's like taking the kids to a sweetshop. We were always going to lose our best player. They are PNE in the Championship, we're Rovers in League 1. I like Menayese and agree he's done well, but provided we either sign Tony Craig or welcome James Clarke back soon, we will have sufficient cover and 15-20 games in League 2 will do benefit Rollin hugely in the long run. Remember the huge step up he's made. Ok, we could do with a winger and, in an ideal world, a defensive minded midfielder. But we can cope without tbe latter when we have Joe Partington, Ollie Clarke or Linesy who can play the role. A winger would be good, but when you have what we have to offer, you ain't gonna get everything you want. This squad is perfectly good enough to finish mid table again, which, until we get it right off the pitch, is really all we can expect or aim for. Enjoy...these are actually good times to be a Gashead, although you'd never know it reading half the stuff on here. “These are actually good times to be a Gashead” don’t make me laugh it was the previous regime that Clarke was employed by that gained us 2 promotions not the new owners, we are no better off than at any time in the past , in fact worse because before we had hope but that has now pretty much completely evaporated Cheer up! Why does it matter who was in Box 1 when we were promoted? Although it was NH in 2015 and WAQ in 2016 as I recall. How can you say we are worse off than any time in our past? 1940, 1980-88, 2001-05, 2011-15 were considerably worse. We're in our historic league position, which itself is massively better than where we've generally been since Olly was sacked. We have one if the best managers we've ever had. We have a team that play for the shirt. We've had a really good transfer window. Crowds are at a 40 year high. Off the pitch we still lag light years behind and it is now this board's responsibility to address the ground situation. But to blame the current owners for the position we're in when we've been "without hope" for nearly 80 years...? Trust ne, this is a pretty good time to be a Gashead. Not the absolute best maybe, but a lot closer to that than the doomsday scenario maby would have us believe.

Not the absolute best maybe, but a lot closer to that than the doomsday scenario maby would have us believe. Off the pitch we are a shambles with no direction and no ambition and yes we do very arguably have one of our better managers in time and to that you’ll get no dispute from me as I think that with very limited resources he has put together a very tight knit squad who do indeed play for the shirt. You have quite rightly pointed out that Higgs was 2015 but Waq took over 2 months prior to our league 2 success and had no input or contribution to that scenario in fact he was merely just a spectator who milked the plaudits for doing naff all and pretty much the same since. As far as being a successful window only time will prove or disprove this point . Our crowds are at a 40 year high but somehow I think that if we finish lower than last seasons league position that will start to drop as our crowds in league 2 were heightened by regaining our league status and the subsequent season the same , this season we had very good season ticket sales but most of these would’ve been purchased before the UWE collapse so all in all pretty hard to judge on how that’ll be sustained.

Season ticket sales next year will very much depend how we do between now and the end of the season and also how the squad develops in the summer. For now I believe the new signings will put an extra 500 on the gate tomorrow and probably be the biggest gate of the season. Only trouble is ...will the new players play tomorrow as its going to be tough on any player being dropped after last weeks performance but it is also a very tough game to make your debut. We shall see but personally I would like to see both of this weeks signings starting.

So many experts on season ticket sales projections. It's a wonder they don't work in the marketing department.

As for the past regime, nearly sent us into administration. So yea, no better off at all.

So many experts on season ticket sales projections. It's a wonder they don't work in the marketing department. I've read a few cynical posts lately suggesting that the club will be making announcements regarding the training ground or plans for the mem redevelopment with the purpose of increasing ST sales, I don't believe that myself. I will be buying a season ticket for next year irrespective of all of that. UTG!

I think you’ll find our debt has substantially risen since then and I hasten to add secured against our £15 million asset , so yeah no better off 😂
