Perhaps yes. It’s sll guess work from supporters though isn’t it ? Like I’ve said before I haven’t got massive faith in our owners that they’ll be brilliant for us or massively negative feelings that they’ll be terrible, I just don’t know , same as everybody else , which is why I can’t understsnd why so many seem to have it in for them. It’s still early days and there are some positive signs and some less positive signs but I’m happy to let them get on with it because that’s their thing while I do my thing , support the team. So many people have it in for them because so many people expected the new owners to apply a money no object approach and buy our way to the Championship whilst at the same time going straight ahead with UWE and also a state-of-the-art training facility. No-one seemed to be listening when from the outset they were telling anyone who cared to listen that it would be a careful, considered approach, with sustainable development the key I would suggest that's what happening. They're not going to change their plans. We either accept that or in some way chase them out of the club. As they own the shop lock, stock and barrel I don't see what chance a few dozen people on an Internet forum have. Thank you God for DC. Yes, they aren't going anywhere. But just because there is a limit to their investment doesn't mean that should limit our ambition- hence why I would love to hear that they are investigating outside investment or such like. They might very well be, we just don't know, they don't tell us anything. But really, when everything has to be run via Hani (who is not interested football) it is easy to deduce from that that Dwane Sports are the only game in town and will continue to be the only game in town unless someone offers more than the whole lot is worth to take a debt ridden club off their hands. Never gonna happen. With the 12 million they have effectively put us beyond the reach of anyone else...except maybe Amanda Staveley. I hear she is looking to buy a club right now

The key difference is there is no emotional/pride investment when choosing which newsagent to go to. If the one on the corner isnt open because they close early on a Sunday you just walk the extra 5 minutes to one of the big chains and shop there and ask no questions. As a football supporter you are tied (or should be) to your local team therefore it is quite important (as far as sporting emotional investment goes) to at least be confident that your team is on a solid footing and has the structure in place to be competing at a higher level. Who wants to support a team whose ambitions have a ceiling of the division they are currently in? Especially when there is the added insult to your pride when you are surrounded by fans of your rivals telling you how amateur your team is and there is really not much you can defend your team with. In terms of infrastructure we are league one at very best. Yet in terms of support we are potentially championship, it is so frustrating not being able to realise the potential that is there. So like so many others its all about bristol city fc. After nearly 20 years without a league derby yes, I'm afraid partly it is. It is also about false dawns, of which I doubt there is a club in the league that has had more.

It is also about false dawns, of which I doubt there is a club in the league that has had more. The owners have been here for 2 years so you cant lay the local derby thing at their door. Its not dwane sports fault that steve lansdown is worth £2billion. They have to run the club and try to improve the club in its own right and with cool heads. We had 3 fantastic seasons since the relegation out of the league and the team are holding their own right now. The owners have supported the manager with several signings including paying fees for players which is a new gimmick for us[recent years]. They havnt delivered the ground and we need a ground. They have delivered countless improvements to the football club. Im happy with our owners but aware that they will need to come up with a plan to try and take the club forward.

Was Eastville better than the Mem??? Not much in it but think it had the edge. Used to have to leave at 4 pm to get the bus to do my paper round in Totterdown.Evening Post,Evening World,Green-'un and Pink-'un.Ah those days when we had flower beds behind the goals and I paid 9 d to get in. Or get in at half time for free when the gates were opened....

I hear she is looking to buy a club right now Have they “invested” anything at all though? So far they seem only to have acted like very cautious secured lenders. I can’t see they have risked anything - what investors do is risk their capital to improve an asset. To date they are acting exactly like the bankers they are. And until something is built, the training ground purchase could just be a disguised landbanking exercise, with profit possible via planning for housing.

They have laid out money for one of 2 reasons according to you. To either build and improve on their asset (the football club) Or to sell the land on for profit. Either way it's an investment by your own reasoning.
