If you are talking directly to me, I don't believe I have ever presented anything as fact, merely my own opinions or interpretations and I certainly haven't posted any rumours.
but if we are dealing in facts, the last fact regarding Martyn Starnes is he starts on the 9th July
www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/march/chiefexecutive/
It's all a bit strange that he's already been replaced at Plymuff before he "officailly" leaves them on the 31 May but then doesn't join up with us for another 5 weeks. Isn't it an ideal time for the guy to take a holiday bearing in mind that he won't get much time once the season starts? Even chief executives need a holiday.

I see Tommy's son Theo has just been released by Pompey.

And in there is the problem. A high level plan won't be detailed enough to answer the questions and anything detailed will be commercially sensitive, especially if there are third parties involved. I've posted before what I think is their intention so I won't bore people again, but whilst player recruitment and stadium are the main fan concerns don't ignore the non player recruitment and incremental improvements to the Mem. Companies sometimes issue vague 'mission statements or visions'and I think we had that on day one. Evolution not revolution and tackle each division as it comes. To me that means Wael wants a sustainable club. But why do we need posters making guesses at what they think might be happening? We've not heard from Wael or SH for months, outside of the AGM, there's already rumours the CEO is no longer joining us and there's still no signs of the plans being submitted to BCC planners. The Board members have learned their lesson - better to say nothing until the deal is done rather than say what could happen or they would like to happen and then be open to ridicule and criticism from the usual rabble. Yes, folks, we have now entered the world of 'wait and see' because of the silly idiots (you know who they are) who pour scorn on everything the owners do or say. In future when something is announced you will know that agreements have been signed sealed and settled.

If certain people leave the company I work for they are not allowed to go and work for a competitor for a period of time
The same was in my industry. 3 month gardening leave period a minimum due to access to sensitive information and a signature on a document from the official secrets act. He probably wants a holiday as well.

Hence why he only officially leaves on the 31 May, although it sounds like he's been on gardening leave for at least the whole of May, as I said it seems odd then taking another 5 weeks off work, perhaps he does have hols booked for late June/July, who knows.

Even if he doesn't have a period of gardening leave, even if he doesn't have a holiday booked - why is it odd? Person leaves old job with new job lined up and doesn't immediately start employment. That's a perfectly normal everyday thing to do. Why does everything have to be a conspiracy theory on here?

I wonder how Plymouth are feeling about it now because their form dipped a bit following the news that their CEO was joining us. Ended up missing out on the play offs when they were looking strong and inform to finish in the top 6.

They probably realised like we do that the last thing they need at the moment is promotion to the Championship, unless the CEO picked the team/tactics, if he did perhaps that explains why he needs a long break from football!

Why would they think this, they are in a lot better position than most?

Agreed. All this talk of "last thing needed at the moment is promotion to the Championship" is also questionable IMHO. I know the infrastructure isn't suited to that level, but neither is Burton's and they survived in their debut season. Even if we were relegated first time around, if you plan well enough you could put yourself in a better position to have another crack at promotion the following season.

Very true, its impossible imo to 'plan' to tread water in any particular league as there is always the danger of relegation, which it looked like we would be in a battle against towards the end of 2017.
You just have to spend well and within your means like I guess Shrewsbury have done this season. If they went up and straight back down again would they really be in that bad a position? I don't think so.

I cannot imagine missing out on the playoffs had a lot to do with the janners losing their CEO, more to do with them being a bunch of ******* ********* who robbed us blind with the help of the referee. “What goes around comes around” blah blah blah.

I guess this helped Burton plus Nigel Clough is probably a decent Championship manager with good links. Meet Burton Albion: the League Two side with a £120m training ground
No doubt if we want up and struggled DC head would roll after 9 months and we'd be back to employing the likes of Buckle & McGhee!!

I'm sure training at St George's does have its advantages, but I stand by what I said previously. trainingground.guru/articles/st-georges-park-boosting-burtons-academy-ambitions

Burton made a profit of 1m last year and will probably do so again this year and come down to L1 again with a squad of better players and a bigger budget, their reputation will have increased too due to the exposure that being in the second tier brings. It wouldn’t exactly be the end of the world if such a thing were to happen to us, I can certainly think of a lot of worse things than that, being relegated from the basement division into a semi professional league springs to mind as one of them.
