Even in his best season so far, I felt that Ellis was still blowing hot and cold. He barely had a shot on goal during his last 6 or 7 home games. His last home league goal was 24th February, I'm sure we can replace him, and especially if you're just looking to replace his non goalscoring duties. Ellis was our most consistent player last season. Where has this hot and cold nonsense come from? I think the previous Ellis is tainting your views of how he was last season there. I wasn't bothered about Gaffney going at the time but with Ellis potentially going in the same summer then that would be pretty disastrous and very risky. Tom Nichols was the most consistent player last season by a country mile consistently 🤫 but will come good this season 🙏

Can't believe how disrespectful, many are, on here. I asked a player yesterday at FGR, and was told categorically that EH was injured. None of these sh1te rumours are discussed in the dressing room, beacuse thats all they are, (for the time being) rumours.

If Ellis was injured then DC would have said so in his interview; after all he told us Reilly was injured with very little prompting. I expect it had been anticipated that fans would ask other players about Ellis, and no doubt they were told to say he was injured, rather than face a barrage of questions about where he was going, how many clubs, how much, are we looking for replacements, etc etc. I only hope that the club doesn't get rolled-over like we did with Snake and Bodin. If Eisa went for over one mill after one good season in L 2, we should be getting at least the same, if not more if 2 or perhaps more clubs are in for Ellis.

I haven’t read anyone being disrespectful towards him on here. Makes me laugh how many people on here get so emotional if you don’t agree. Like you say he probably won’t be going , but if he did , like everyone else that has left us in the past, he will be replaced.

I wasn't bothered about Gaffney going at the time but with Ellis potentially going in the same summer then that would be pretty disastrous and very risky. It wouldn't be ideal but if we we still had Gaffney it wouldn't mean he's score anymore goals, just take up more wages. Hopefully we can get 2 strikers in the building before the season starts if this does happen. Would be nice if one of them at least has a record of scoring consistently I know but Gaffney was ok for us. At least he would know how DC likes to play and can run the channels and bring people into play. He's no world beater by any means but losing both of them in one window leaves me nervous. Take Nichols for example, Gaffney has been a better option up front and I'd be much more confident with Gaffney leading the side up front than Nichols. I know we might find 1 or 2 strikers better than Nichols but we also might not. Gaffney we know could have done a job, if even just a stop gap.

I agree he's good at defending , but that's not really what you look for in a forward is it ? I agree he's a good character as others have said, also his link up play is ok ..... But not great. A forwards job is to to stick the ball in the net , hopefully 20 plus times a season. He's got a yr left on his contract which is the elephant in the room! Cash in now or risk him going for peanuts. Just my opinion guys. In the real world how many strikers actually score 20 goals at this level? Over the past couple of seasons there have been 5. One of those cost £1.2mil, one cost £600k and another one cost £450k. Ok ,how many have scored 14 over the last 5 yrs? Hardly irreplaceable .

Thing is ellis will divide opinion on here , i said on here many times in the past ,Ellis should have gone ,however the following season he picked himself up and i apologised to him personally ,i think he's probably the best player we had to use as an impact sub ,some game he came on and was devastating others he wasn't with it, i know im going to be sent to the naughty corner of the blackthorn but in many ways he reminds me of a young bruno ,just wish he would become an old bruno sytle player . If he's off he's off good luck to him ,but if he;s off with the snake then ellis who

How about the goals we would have conceded without his tracking back and the fact he was responsible for heading clear 80% of the set pieces played into our box?
How about the extra options he gives DC allowing him to play 1 up front and 5 in midfield?
Trust me, we will not find better. He will be missed.

If Ellis does go (I hope he doesn't) but lets face it our manager was pretty tight lipped about his non appearance yesterday, then I would like the club to pull out all the stops and get the very dangerous (for opposing defences) Christian Doidge. Gavin Reilly I think is an excellent signing but will need a bigger guy to play off. Also I feel another young good size striker (one for the future) needs to be signed, meaning that for match days we have two on the field and two on the bench, giving the manager an opportunity to mix things up if needed. Looking forward to Tariq joining us next week at left back another cracking addition to the club.

Spot on gasattack, and his reputation now means every time he attacks he takes two defenders out of the game

I wish Ellis all the best if he's off, but I think the lads will miss him in the changing room more than I'll miss him on the pitch. Certainly replaceable.

If it is the guy we’ve been linked with , do you know if he’s any good , I genuinely don’t know anything about him bar the club he currently plays for.

Huddersfield doing a lot of business currently with Tom Ince coming to Stoke for ten million.DC hinted the problem was'At the other end' but still seemed confident he'd clinch a signing soon. Our strike force looks very limited even with Ellis so next two weeks will be interesting.

Inconsistent at best! Shown very few moments of true quality over the years and on the whole is a very ugly to watch and frustrating player for fans! Cureton was a god in front of goal and we got peanuts! If we have been offered a million for Ellis then I’d snap their hand off in my experience of watching him. Decent striker but we shouldn’t fool ourselves into thinking he’s quality! He’s average! You’d like to think we could get two more Ellis Harrison’s from league 2 easily for a million! Take the deal and run with it, just don’t leave it too late and leave us with nothing as if so the seasons dead until January and it’s going to be a bloody long one! If previous strikers were compared then Ellis would be way down the list!

Two that I spoke to were very enthusiastic about him

Not seen Bernard Mensah in action but despite his good reputation at Aldershot do we think he'll come good this season??? Snakey and Billy Bob not set the world alight but if Ellis does go to Ipswich, good club with top notch training facilities. Not long ago he was loaned out to the obscurity of Hartlepool so think DC has handled him well.

Only trouble is at least twice in the last 20 years we got relegated after selling our best strikers. But your right somebody else will play in his position.
