Not seen Bernard Mensah in action but despite his good reputation at Aldershot do we think he'll come good this season??? I bloody hope so !!! All joking aside , yes , I think we have a good player in Mensah that we are yet to see. Looking forward to seeing him this coming season.

Inconsistent at best! Shown very few moments of true quality over the years and on the whole is a very ugly to watch and frustrating player for fans! Cureton was a god in front of goal and we got peanuts! If we have been offered a million for Ellis then I’d snap their hand off in my experience of watching him. Decent striker but we shouldn’t fool ourselves into thinking he’s quality! He’s average! You’d like to think we could get two more Ellis Harrison’s from league 2 easily for a million! Take the deal and run with it, just don’t leave it too late and leave us with nothing as if so the seasons dead until January and it’s going to be a bloody long one! If previous strikers were compared then Ellis would be way down the list! Great thinking, which league 2 strikers did you have in mind for us to sign?

Having a difference of opinion on Harrison does not equal disrespect. I haven’t read anyone being disrespectful towards him on here. Makes me laugh how many people on here get so emotional if you don’t agree. Like you say he probably won’t be going , but if he did , like everyone else that has left us in the past, he will be replaced. Only trouble is at least twice in the last 20 years we got relegated after selling our best strikers. But your right somebody else will play in his position. I still don’t think he’s off personally. I would prefer to keep hold of him but if the rumours are correct and the sum offered is something that would be daft to turn down then we have to do what’s best for the club. Really wouldn’t want to have a player here that wanted to be elsewhere, that could have a real negative impact on team spirit. Think he’ll be in the quarters on opening day!

Any player should want to better himself and play at a better level and a bigger club so i agree that as long as the club get a decent fee for him he will leave. My worry is he will be difficult to replace.

Ok ,how many have scored 14 over the last 5 yrs? Hardly irreplaceable . How about the goals and space he creates for others thanks to he power, pace and workrate up front?
How about the goals we would have conceded without his tracking back and the fact he was responsible for heading clear 80% of the set pieces played into our box?
How about the extra options he gives DC allowing him to play 1 up front and 5 in midfield?
Trust me, we will not find better. He will be missed.
So you’d happily keep him for this season , let his contract run down and let him go for nothing at the end ? Madness

For once the club have done it right and people still moan about it... 1.6 million for Ellis is a great pay day for the club and now they need to spend wisely and quickly... People saying the club has pushed him out is ridiculous... That’s the football world... If we kept him he would have gone for nothing... I am concerned though with what business we need to carry before the start of the season...

Wow DC really needs to read up on what makes a funday. Technically called "open day" I believe.

Any half decent one and they will be looking for big money, like with Eisa at Cheltenham.

I believe the club like to keep transfer fees and contract length confidential, and rightly so in my opinion. It doesn't help when you're trying to buy a player from another club, and that club knows you've just trousered 1.6 mill.
