Taylor would have never re-signed that summer if he didn't have that clause in his contract and we would've got nothing for him. His value as an asset should have been recognised much earlier while we were in the conference. Really? That's a big leap of faith to take Forest Green's 4th choice striker and think that he will be a huge asset when we are in League 1 and clubs come knocking. That would be like signing an unknown reserve from Morecambe now, and chucking a lengthy contract at him in case Man City want him when we're in the Premier League.

DMAC is a gambler in both business and in his football dealings. It’s like he is playing Football Index type stuff but with real players & a real club. Over 30 ins/outs this close season & practically a different side on the field for our first game than for our visit in April. Wants £7m for Marriott - who is very good but....?

To be honest he proved a lot to me early on. It would be interesting to know when we first did offer him a long extension. At least after we got prompted back t the league we should have tied him down.

His value as an asset should have been recognised much earlier while we were in the conference. Imagine the uproar if we handed out a three-year deal to someone who just got released by Forest Green in the Conference! By the end of that season he became a valuable asset and it would have been prudent to have tied him up contract wise at that point in time. If you listen to the interview, Peterborough appear to be much more likely to take on risk than Bristol Rovers.

Been listening to it. Good chairman. Very open. I like it, personally.

This is not Bristol Rovers related...but perhaps it is...if you have got a few minutes or even 43 minutes to listen to this IMO it could not be further from my club and the way I feel it is going. I am no lover of the Peterborough owner or their Management team but after reading this I feel I know more about Peterborough United than I know about my own club! Perhaps TG could learn something from this, Perhaps the Evening Post reporters could learn something from this, perhaps even Wael, Hani or whoever pulls the strings could learn something from this? I would call it refreshing. What is others opinions- I appreciate some or most might think he is a p----k but is it better or worse than the dark hole that we seem to be heading? Has to be a wind up, wouldn't want a bell end like MacAnthony any where near BRFC. I do not get why some are desperate for constant updates, MacAnthony is a classless motormouth and if he's seen as the sort of owner you would want then good god!

Helen to be the new media manager, whilst Medusa will handle fan interaction. Judging by some of the responses on here there are many who have already gazed upon her.

He is a straight shooter. You wouldn't get a load of guff about "landing lights" from him, that is for sure.

Irrespective of yours, mine or anyone's opinion of the Peterborough chairman, what is it about Rovers that makes you think we're heading towards a dark hole? Genuine question, as I would have thought that this is a period of great optimism for Rovers at the moment. Thanks 1970, spot on. Things are looking as good as they’ve ever looked in my time (since 1966). UTG!

Does it really matter. What was clear to me Taylor wanted out regardless. His hand shake deal with Oxford signalled very clearly he didn't have any intentions to stay at Rovers much longer than he could

But obviously unproven at league level and we clearly had money problems under NH, by the time the new owners were in place MT was calling the shots. Likewise Bodin pulled off a similar stunt but for some reason he's still seen as a hero!

Still a similar trick though, if not quite as bad, running down his contract so he could leave for next to nothing at least Harrison signed a 2 year contract so we got decent money for him, as seems the case for Locks.

Watched the whole interview. Brilliant interview and a fans dream for information. Put mccanthony in a different light to be honest even though the interview was slightly self serving. Must admit though i would take 5th in the league with poor communication from owners over 10th in the league with great communication. Well done to the op for posting the interview.
