Mr lansdown has written off at least £100m of debt during his tenure. The comedy waste of money during the steve coppell reign and the huge outlay on the ground is hardly modest spending. Bristol city and brentford for example are no different to plymouth, luton or portsmouth except for their sugar daddy owners. Yet when WAQ first arrived on the seen, social media was awash with many (not all) Rovers fans rubbing their hands at the arrival of their own sugar daddy Remember the video “unlucky the sh1t, premier league in 5 years”. “6th richest club in England” I understood the excitement but don’t slate SL when he’s exactly the kind of owner you’d love to have Not sure any Gashead's have suggested we'd like a franchise club, we were happy to share the Mem with Bristol Rugby we never wanted to take themover and rename them after a Bristol gay club. What we want is a new stadium and a club which is viable w/o somebody pumping millions into it each season.

Its not just about transfers though is it? its a club that loses large amounts of money every season artificially propped up by their owner. Same as many want for rovers of course. I always wonder what would happen if he popped his clogs would the family still want to fund the club. Jack Walkers family didn't stick with Blackburn for long if I remember rightly?

After all, how long has the tax dodger been in control? 10 years +? His reign hasn’t been all roses either, there has been plenty of vitriolic tirades following relegations to L1 and then fighting at the wrong end of the Championship, hiring duff manager after duff manager, poor recruitment, non communicating CEOs the list goes on. It’s only been peaceful in the last 12 months since a decent cup run and the new stadium opening. So until the ALQs have been here 10 years you can’t draw any comparisons. Looking at what clubs like Bournemouth and Blackpool can achieve it could be possible in 10 years we could be in the prem with a new stadium hailing the best owners in the world. We could also be bankrupt in the conference again mind you!

When we went into the Conference they were nearly dropping into L2. Mind you, the opening of the Lansdown Stand could be a game changer as that it almost the Mem in one go. It's his ability to get something done once he has decided on a course that I would have liked. We could already have a couple of decent stands by now had we not kept changing plans.

Relaid pitch x 2 = should’ve got it right first time YES very professional? Improved matchday facilities = Like what higher prices, longer ques, etc Improved club shop,= Have you been in the shop yet? Darrell's contracts= Do you expect DC to work for nothing Incoming players= paid for by out going transfers Improved coaching staff= Please explain we still concede heavily and don’t score More professional structure = They never tell us anything communication nonexistent Etc = = ? If that's the case why don't the fans chip in and buy the club a stadium then?

His comments about "No-one will speak of Rovers" and the way the unveiling of Taylor was handled (amongst other things) do City no credit whatsoever. I look past the crap the managers come out with but as the figurehead of the club he should behave with a bit of maturity.

If the boot was on the other foot our fan base would love those type of comments. Remember DC asking on live radio "How did them lot down the road get on today" knowing they'd lost?

I'm not meaning recent times, I'm referring to an older plan to build a new stand which then changed to a whole stadium, then a new stadium. I admit that each was better than before but not making a firm decision meant we drifted for what, 10 years (?) without any improvements. Can't change the past and I don't lay blame but it explains why we drifted. SL made a decision that once Ashton Vale fell through to do a rebuild. Difference is, he had the personal wealth to make that decision himself.

and the willingness to use the money for City without repayment and after so long you know he is going to stay there! Time will tell.

Of all the whining about Bristol City Council, various NIMBYs, planning permission, various partners (Sainsburys, ICI, that student accomodation lot, Oxford Stadiums), we've always tried to do this on the cheap, or with a sharp deal, enabling developments, etc, putting ourselves at the mercy of others' plans and ambitions. Had we ever been prepared to simply put up the cash for a new stadium we could have had whatever we'd have been prepared to pay for, relatively easily, in a few years. The fact is, we have never actually been prepared to simply pay for what we wanted.

There was a time as well in the early years of trying where a good percentage of the cost would have been available in a scheme at the time for improvements and new builds.

thing is, if you look at a lot of the developments of grounds or training facilities (when people go on about other clubs) a lot of them are funded or in association with enabling or bigger developments.
Exeter, Swindon, Lincoln, Oxford, Wimbledon, Accrington etc. that were mentioned recently all have some other projector funding that ties in with it

Perhaps we should have designed a much more modest UWE with one or two main stands and the others smaller temporary ones to bring the budget within say £15m which we could have got for the Mem for housing. The temporary ones becoming new builds when budgets allowed. At least we would have something tangible. I guess it depends on whether we are a small large-team needing 20,000+ or a large small-team settling for c.12,000 which teams like Shrewsbury have.

Spot on. We want these things yet expect everyone else to fund it. I don't even think BCC have ever turned us down for planning permission so its not as if the task would be hard had we had the cash, or people in charge prepared to stump up the cash.

When the deal revolves around bits and bobs of cash and promises to do this that and the other, you are setting up to fail. UTG

We won't fill 20,000 but 12,000 probably wouldn't be enough given we regularly get 9,000 in the Mem.
