Whatever happens regarding an arena you can bet it wont have anything to do with us or a new ground. We cannot afford a few million for a training ground let alone a stadium. We have gone from Higgs to Al Qadi, which in Arab is Higgs

Hardly a surprise given what has been suggested on the other forum? Could you elaborate/share a link for us not on the other forum please? You do not need to be a member of the Gas Guzzler forum to read the messages. If you look under the Wael thread around page 6 it implies legal threats (I’m assuming that’s what a cease and desist notice is) have been made to certain Gas Chat forum users. My lawyer has asked me to point out that I am just pointing you in the right direction and I am not stating what is on there is true.

They earnt atound £1.2M by playing Arsenal at their place (45% of a full stadium) plus £760,00 in prize money to get that far Add on to that the £247,000 TV money and you are well over £2.2M easily Lincoln were also televised against Oldham and the Ipswich replay for £144k, minimum £2.34M but they also earn't 45% 0f the Burnley and Ipswich gates too Then you get the Checktrade money including a Wembley final.....goint to be closer to £3M I forgot the fact they got to the quarter finals, I assumed it was just the one or two televised games although they still only made £1.3m profit last year. www.redimps.co.uk/news/2018/february/180213-accounts/ Indeed, but my point that they earnt nigh on £3M from both cups remains (bear in mind I have to work and socialise with some of their fanbase) The Checkertrade money will be in the following year's accounts, so still going to be healthy I for one hope they gain promotion, as long as we remain in L1, just so I have an away day less than 30 minutes from my front door

If we had an "Astute and very wealthy" person wanting to buy us I would hope Wael would do the right thing and sell the club and not try to hang onto ownership.

I think it’ll be pretty decent if it’s at Filton, the Brab Hanger is huge, it’ll be like our version of the O2 and hopefully that’ll mean a multifunctional arena. One thing this area has been crying out for is a decent arena to attract things like boxing/UFC etc, I think there is a massive pool of talent being wasted in the West Country because there isn’t anywhere to hold such events. It’s not just about getting Adele and Michael McIntyre here. I think the transport argument is null and void, as apparently the funding will go towards the infrastructure, the roads down to the M32 are better at Filton than in Town, with the added route of going up by the Mall and getting on the M5. The Mall is also going to be expanded let’s not forget. I know Bristol would benefit an arena, and honestly there’s no reason both couldn’t be done, Birmingham has more than one place, as does London and other cities. Like others have said, I wouldn’t mind betting we’ve had talks with YTL about land, I know housing associations have already had talks with YTL so no doubt other CEO’s have. You say the roads are better from the M32, having spent the last 15 years experiencing the traffic mayhem one incident can have in the area. I will poo-poo you on that one; From the M5 can also be a complete mare Yeah but the same could be said for the centre of Town, one crash on the M32/M4/M5 crossover and the whole place is shafted. All roads are bad if there's been a crash on it, plus all roads are bad after a football match/Arena performance. The O2 is a nightmare if you aren't tubing it, and not everyone would have got a train/walked/rode to the Arena if it was built by Temple Meads.

It doesn't even have to be a traffic incident.
I remember a good few years ago was the worse traffic ive seen around the centre of Bristol in my lifetime. It was because there was a briefcase left unattended in the galleries.
It was absolute mayhem on the roads, every direction was blocked and not moving...
..and I never did get my briefcase back

Maybe Pantsdown is trying to beat Bristol to it with his Bristol Sport vanity project. I wouldn't be surprised if he is in the know about the ongoing of all this Bristol, fingers in pies and money in pockets id imagine.

Tennis and Wrestling then. Never mind. Probably get some boxing etc. But doubt any football would be allowed in an indoor arena.

Sporting could mean events held at the arena, such as boxing.
