We as Gasheads have suffered over the years with continual disappointment re expansion and particularly with a new stadium. For the first time ever we were given real hope by the Al Qadi's only to have that hope fall into total confusion. Recently there has been loss of confidence in DC by a small number of fans. My point is if we are devastated by the disappointment of the lack of progress in the expansion of the club IMAGINE HOW HE FEELS. It is after all his career and reputation on the line not ours. We did not expect with the Al Qadi's to revert to the old days of selling our best players and not reinvesting that money into replacements. There are 30+ page threads on here about the confusion of our future and it doesn't affect our livelihood, IMAGINE THEN HOW THE EMPLOYEES FEEL. They don't have any knowledge (as far as we can guess) about what's happening and the direction of the club, just struggle on has we always have done, with our amazing fans. One difference this time is that we have a young, hungry and ambitious manager who has to work under extremely confusing conditions. My guess is Wael and Hani have a difference of opinion and the club has been left in a state of flux. Please spare a thought for DC and the players who are working in these disjointed conditions. Imho if we sacked DC it would be the worst decision since selling Eastville.

he can always walk away from it if he wants but we can't this is our club actually and in reality you are entirely the wrong way around there. It is far easier for you to walk away from it than him. It's not your livelihood or career. It doesn't pay your bills. It just your feelings.

yeah I suppose he will be unemployable that's why he is waiting for the sack and a pay off
and I probably also like everyone else on here cannot walk away from our club that we love even if we don't like what's going on

Even if you don’t rate him as a manager you can not argue he has worked damn hard for this club. I don’t see DC as a man who would want to sit around with a big pay off.

Imagine if DC had been sacked after his first 8 games in charge following relegation. (IMO it was his team (tactics not squad) at the very end that was relegated not Ward's). He's learnt a lot since bless him. Imagine if we had not sold those better players and forced them to play for about a third of the pay they are now on with their new clubs.
Imagine if we had got promoted and the lesser players were all released and those on longer contracts who refused to move on were never picked to play again.
Imagine if we were relegated the better players would all be unhappy and would want to leave.
Imagine the lower clubs fans who would be gutted when Rovers steal their better players mostly on free contracts because we pay higher monies
Imagine the higher clubs fans when Rovers sign their cast off players cheering from the roof tops.
Imagine a football world where every team plays well and gets promoted every season and the voted for pies are sold at £2
Imagine the real football world where it doesn't matter how much money is thrown at the team so it will be a certainty that some teams will be promoted and others relegated. Can anyone recall a club not so far away who threw £50m at their club and still got relegated, cus I can.
Throughout all the excitement, passion, pride and disappointment watching Rovers in 4 divisions the GAS IS MY TEAM UTG

Imho if we sacked DC it would be the worst decision since selling Eastville. That’s all well and good but the football we all go to watch is unacceptable after spending are hard earned cash,I don’t expect us too be top of the table or winning every game it would be nice but come on nearly every fan now wants a settled side with players playing in their accustomed positions and a consistent performance but changing the team by 3/4/5 players each game doesn’t do the squad any favours, the of the field events are what they are and the manager and players should be looking too entertain the fans who turn up in all kinds of weather and pay their hard earned cash. No one knows exactly what’s going on with a take over other than wael and co if there even is any buyers out there who want us. They can’t be bothered to inform us on either front on what’s happening with our football club who I’ve been supporting for more than 50 years now and I’m still waiting for a better stadium than Eastville but I don’t think it will ever happen I’m afraid 😟 Time for the owners just to give us some clarity on what our future holds that’s not asking a lot surely good or bad news so we can put all these rumours to death.UTG

DC chose this profession and he is well paid for it - he knows as well as anyone else that the attrition rate in this business is probably higher than anywhere else. I could excuse his inexperience up until the last couple of seasons but not having his team anywhere near ready for the start of this season IMO is unforgivable. I agree he is working in a difficult situation but others I'm sure are working under similar restraints. As I mentioned earlier (and you criticised)'he has spent a lot of money and the recruitment up to now looks poor, his constant team changes, team selection, tactics and frankly poor boring football is beginning to irritate a few fans as you put it - I would suggest it's a lot more than a few which is and will be reflected in attendances.
The facts speak for themselves and just 6 wins out of the last 28 matches (since last February) is not acceptable and to compare a dismissal as the worst decision since selling Eastville is frankly myopic. Just because people like him as a person is NOT a reason to keep him as a manager if he continues to fail.
And BTW I go back to the Eastville days.

he can always walk away from it if he wants but we can't this is our club Of course!! It’s so easy to just walk away, forget about the weekly wage coming in to support your family. The real world doesn’t work like that. Of all the managers we’ve had, perhaps with the exception of Bert Tann, I suspect DC is as emotionally linked to this club as any. So no he shouldn’t walk away. Good post from the OP. UTG!

It must be very frustrating for DC, but I am sure he is paid well and he has big enough shoulders to crack on with his job, which is looking after the team. 5 points from 9 is looking much better and he has got a good keeper in Bonham. I feel he needs to give Reilly the opportunity he’s given Nichols now.
I think he enjoys being here most of the time & appreciates the majority of support he gets. He knows he still has a long time in the game so there will be plenty of opportunity to go on to bigger and better things if we procrastinate as a club.

All you are doing Blueridge is Daily Mail journalism, taking the bad bits out of context and printing it as a headline. What you write is true but gives a distorted picture. Imo since the seemingly change of attitude by the board we have reverted to the 'old style Rovers' way of running the club and this makes it more difficult for the manager to manage as it has done for most other managers in the past. I think we have to factor this in when we judge the manager. We can't have 30+ threads complaining about the board without understanding that the management are suffering too regarding our future lack of direction and that this will have an impact on our results.

DC sounded quite happy pre-match prior to Rochdale. Even praised the owners Not sure complaining that he only had one pitch to train on was singing the owners praises? What I don't understand from is fans who've apparently supported Rovers for decades calling for DC to be sacked, firstly where's their loyalty to a manager who lifted this club from it;s lowest point and when was the last time we sacked a manager and it led to long term success, usually it ends in our relegation, Holloway, Trollope etc. after we employ clowns like Buckle & McGhee.
