"In another PR disaster for Bristol Rovers, Commercial Director Tom Gorringe today shot a Bristol City Council Planning Officer in the Car Park of the Memorial Stadium". Or if it was the Bristol Post: Local pedestrian attacked by cyclist, this is what happened. More likely:
Local pedestrian attacked by Rovers hooligan cyclist.....
Better click bait.

The BP never miss an opportunity to create a fuss about nothing. It's almost as if they're trying to give their favourite football club(BCFC 1982) a laugh. Yeah, the BP are basically "Sh*t stirrers R us".

Seems like they reported facts and their story has lead to a thread on here with over 14,000 views thus far. I mean surely that's the sort of thing they're after?

It's almost as if they're trying to give their favourite football club(BCFC 1982) a laugh. Strange that seeing as the editor is a Gashead and has been a guest of directors on several occasions. Strange that as every time you go on the post website there are numerous stories about them lot and the only ones about us seem to be trying to stir the pot unless you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page where the Rovers section is.

I mean surely that's the sort of thing they're after? can see that argument but 1) It's the crappy headlines they write for these stories and the sensation they put into it (yes, I realise it is the low media...) and 2) the relationship between BP and BRFC has been pretty poor for several years (nothing to do with AQs per se - to do with the BP and the way they now try to make money via advertising). This and many other recent stories must surely mean they are pretty much persona non grata unless they chance their ideas. Rovers don't need them, so they'll just have to sit on the outside writing sensational negativity unless they want to change.

Thing is their job is to make money and report facts second, if they can spin something into a bigger story they will. I fail to see why people can't grasp the fact that in the last 10-15 years local print media is nothing other than a small tabloid. If you want overtly positively spun stories, stick to club media.

Good news that they're open now it seems.
Will there be tickets on sale for Saturday in the Family Stand, or the other new stand do you know- or is it ST only?

Actually it’s worse at Bournemouth in a strange way. On Monday all around me the fans were having a great moan about no pace, not taking chances, not doing this, not doing that etc. One of my friends turned around and said we’re rubbish! Until they got a last few minutes pen to win 2-1 then they start talking about getting into the top 4. You couldn’t make it up. It happens every week, some of them really have forgotten where they’ve come from. It’s laughable really. Oh well, fans eh? UTG! Indeed, and some of our fans have forgotten where we have come from too.
It makes me laugh the way some people continually knock the Mem, but romanticise Eastville . . . Eastville was a shithole. It was our home, and I and my friends used to walk there from staple hill for every home game, but it was a shithole. I have great memories of being there as a teenager, but it was a shithole. I went there as an 8-year old with my granddad to watch my first-ever Rovers game (which changed my life), but it was a shithole. The point here, is that we follow the Rovers, not the bloody stadium. We are the Gas and we will (allegedly) always follow the boys in blue & white - isn’t that how the song goes? I want a new stadium as much as anybody else, but until that happens I will watch Rovers wherever they’re playing - which at the moment is the Mem. It might not be the best ground in England (or even the West Country for that matter), but I don’t care. I actually don’t care. I’m 55 now and have no plans to shuffle off just yet, so as long as we get the stadium we all deserve before I shuffle off to the great Tote End in the sky, that’ll do me. Until then, it’s the club that occupies my interest not the peripherals.

Local print media is a shadow of its former self and on line content has to be headline grabing. I used to buy the BEP regularly but no more. Even the Friday pre match content has shrunk to a small interview and the betting odds.

Even though our stadium is holding us back from becoming a big championship club so what and when’s it been any different ? I go to football to support the team and enjoy the atmosphere not admire the ground I’m stood in, and most modern grounds haven’t got as good atmosphere as the old ones anyway. Ask fans in the bottom two divisions what grounds they like and they’ll tell you ours , fratton park etc and which ones are soulless they’ll say MK , Oxford etc Proper crappy old stadiums with terracing and atmosphere.

In the 80s Eastville was a sh****** but in the 60s and early to mid 70s it was ok and with 20-30k in the ground was the best atmosphere ever, even when compared to anything today. Trouble was we didn’t own the ground and the owners never did anything to it from about 1960 onwards and they certainly didn’t repair or replace after the stand burnt down. But in the 80s it was awful. UTG!

We all desperately want a better ground, for all sorts of reasons, but it's not THE most important thing about being a Gashead.
