Does anyone else think he might walk after watching that? I hope not.

Does anyone else think he might walk after watching that? I hope not. yeah. Every time I watch his interviews I think yep this is the guy we stick with but cold logic says he needs to shoulder his share of blame for the absolute state of it. I think the board have a lot to answer for in terms of morale and direction and honestly I wonder whether all these threads should be about the board rather than DC sometimes. I mean, Steve Hamer. Steve. Hamer. What is that about.

Dc, and us supporters have been well and truly shafted, we will be relegated, if serious money is not spent, on strikers that can actually score.

Does anyone else think he might walk after watching that? I hope not. Agree. The only honest voice we ever hear. Sure he’s made mistakes this season but who doesn’t make mistakes? At least too, unlike the disingenuous cowards who own the club he’s not afraid to admit his and to face up to them.

I posted this in another thread a few days ago, but I reckon it's just as relevant here:
"Here’s my take on the current situation, for what it’s worth . . .
I have followed Rovers since 1972 and I don’t think we’ve ever had a manager who “gets” us as much as DC does - possibly even including Saint Gerry and Saint Ollie . . . The bloke couldn’t be any more Gas if he’d been born in bloody Eastville, ffs! I honestly think that if you cut him, he would bleed pure blue & white just like the rest of us. He wasn’t responsible for our relegation to non-league, he just got chucked in to take the flak whilst JW legged it uostairs. But in true Gas fashion he turned it on its head and wore it as a badge of honour, getting us back up against many predictions to the contrary and likewise to Lg 1. And yes, he’s responsible for putting this group of players together and ultimately must take responsibility - as the manager - for our current predicament. But . . . What the f**k has happened to that traditional Rovers spirit, where in times of adversity we close ranks, stand with our backs to the wall, stick two fingers up, give it a chorus of Goodnight Irene and prepare to sell our lives dearly? He stuck by us when he could’ve gone elsewhere and so maybe now it’s our turn to stick by him and show the owners that despite their apparent lack of interest/backing/money/desire to succeed/ empathy for the fans, we are shoulder-to-shoulder with OUR manager and OUR team. If the players truly feel connected to us (as DC clearly is/does) then surely they would have more of an emotional stake in our survival? I don’t want to believe that they’re all heartless mercenaries . . . So let’s turn it on it’s head, like we’ve done before, give it a snarl of defiance followed by the Tote end roar and not stop fighting until it’s done. And anyone who thinks I’m just being romantic can f**k off."
Now, after watching that interview, I'm more convinced than ever that we should stand behind DC - and if anything, the two fingers and the defiance should be directed towards the owners, not him. They have it within their power to help put this right, and for the sake of the club, the fans and the manager, they should do that very thing. And if they can see that we're standing foursquare behind DC rather than blaming him, because of their inaction and near-negligence, there might be a chance that they'll do the right thing to ensure our Lg 1 survival . . .

Why on earth would we want anyone else to represent us?

So, so true and yet what a shocking state of affairs that is. Why is it only DC has the kahunas to front up when things are tough? The man has carried this club for a long time now and it appears is being let down by a complete absence of leadership above him.

he refers to the 'various rumours' whilst looking pretty forlorn....
Don't worry Darrell, we know how you feel....

Wouldn't surprise me if he walks. And who could blame him.
Thanks for everything DC
Says a lot, on the run we are on that the majority are still behind DC.

DC is really going to have to think about whether he is going to truly have it out with the board. Best of luck to him if he does. Got to respect his honesty and fight.
I've been critical of him standing by some of the players, but that also demands some respect to be fair. He's the sort of guy I'd want leading if I was in the trenches. He has stood by his players a lot longer than most would, even now he is dealing with them with admirable dignity.
If he can't get what's needed out of the board, and, if he can't get what's needed out of these players then I really don't believe anyone else can.
If DC walks or if he should be pushed then we really are in trouble.

Who are the board members? Hamer and? Des Lienem Hamer, Silent Wael, the anonymous CEO (I think), Mike Turner whoever he is and Ken Dam Masters.

Those of us that support DC need to put our full weight behind him as he is about to have a showdown with the board/owners. The £1M difference between transfers in and out referenced by DC is the amount spent on the mythical training ground, is it not? They have broken promises towards DC and therefore towards the Supporters. We must stand shoulder to shoulder with DC as he seems to be fighting a lone battle with the PTB. We must demand a QandA via this forum. It has already been mentioned that Broadbent (if fit) should be tried up front and as he can play a bit it might be worth trying to convert him as surely he couldn't be any worse than the goal shy bunch we currently have. We are in a crisis and emergency measures should be considered. Best wishes to DC.

People are putting it far more eloquently on here than I have on the other thread especially old school toteender.
Sums up my thoughts entirely and is the best post I’ve seen in a long while.

It would only serve to extend uncertainty.... I'm personally happy that Darrell has said he will question the 'powers that be' and to be honest I think this our only route to finding out wtf is going on.... Go for it Darrell.....

Good point that, I'm not his biggest fan this season by any stretch but at least he fronts up when the chips are down. Wael should be on the blower to DC asking him for some tips on how to grow a spine.

He mentioned that they had sold 1.5 mil of strikers, and spent .5 on replacing them, which I took as a jibe at hamers interview . and that the club had missed the opp to move forward. SH reflected that very well. Geoff asked if the money had been spent on players and SH simply said it had all been reinvested. Surprised Geoff didn't push for a bit more
