Bugger Cotterill pull out all the stops to get Hurst in he’s the nearest thing to DC and he’s out of work He's a good manager but he's nothing like DC in terms of his character from what I've seen. I would be happy with him but as he's mates with DC he'd surely have spoken to him and been told what a shower the board are.

Paul Sturrock was here today apparently being interviewed.
What a way to ruin a good result.

Sturrock has a good eye for a player and vast experience and knowledge. As you said, maybe as a number 2 or DOF, but not manager. He is currently chief scout at Dundee Utd.

Paul Sturrock would be a terrible appointment as manager and a total misfit for us.

Coughlan made a good shout for the permanent gaff today Excellent result, but one swallow doesn't make a summer. Let's not get carried away.

Didn’t Sturrock retire as a manager?

Sturrock as DoF and Coughlan as manager would be a good shout. Coughlan played for him for a lot of years at Plymouth

I was assuming bringing sturrock in would be Coughlans choice, or at least something he approved of

Widdrington being present will surely help Coughlan or any new boss come to that, I agree. Sturrock being involved at some level couldn't hurt providing it's not as manager. He has a wealth of experience as pirate said, and would be there possibly to give a bit of advice to GC or whoever the new manager is, when needed. Jumping the gun considerably here though aren't I! It's just a scenario I could imagine making sense.

Seems like a top bloke and most importantly out of that for me was “ I wanted us to use width , two right footers on the right and two left footers on the left” This as I’ve said many times this season has been our biggest downfall all season playing players on the wrong sides has made our play predictable and narrow . I wasn’t there today but it sounded like we made use of that width and Sunderland knew they were in a game. Give him the fleetwood game and a chance to go again , early signs are good with this bloke as he’s clearly identified what’s been the biggest problem and corrected it in his very first game , and thank f**k for that. UTG. Once again we went for width and pace yesterday and once again we played well. I know I was banging on all season about us being too narrow but I honestly feel that it was the biggest problem and we now need to stick with this bloke. Cotterill likes to play 3-5-2 if we went with him we’d go down , we haven’t got the players for it.
