“We’ve already started to receive CVs, that’s the way things are in football these days. So we will assess the applications along with those CVs that come from people who are already at the club like Graham Coughlan.” Sorry but that’s enough Rovers for me today. Tells me absolutely everything I need to know about this board, zero ambition. We should be going out contacting clubs about managers and requesting to speak to them. Not sitting around twiddling our thumbs seeing who applies. It’s not a f**king corner shop job vacancy. Interview with the ‘CEO’ on the post website anyone who wants to feel anymore depressed. Also says that they agreed to sack/let Darrel go on Monday. F*ck me - I thought you were taking the water out of Wael/the Board and made up a quote. To find out this was real is deeply depressing

Seeing that list has made me even more depressed than I was before. I would have DC over any of those. love dc but how can anyone do any worse than the results we have had in 2018 Can’t keep going on about the past that’s gone Well, we can't appoint any of the other managers on the list. What have they done? Nothing relevant, it was all in the past. Like it or not, the past IS relevant in decision making. It's short sighted people with short memories who can't see past the end of their own nose that ignore past achievements.

Yep also called us RagAss Rovers. Don’t mind an ex shithead manager if they’ve kept their nose clean but when they’ve taken cheap unnecessary jibes I’d rather not have them anywhere near. I would prefer to reserve judgement until he has had a go at keeping us up. Let's not forget you couldn't get much more Bristol City than Steve Phillips, always enjoyed winding the Rovers fans up and yet arguably can be classed as 'one of our own' given the shift he put in for us in his time here. Don’t get me wrong. I will support the guy if he gets the gig 100%. Id still rather have someone else though. That said, I’m not one of these people who will down their support because of D.C. being let go, nor would I stay away if Cotterill is hited

Dc has lost his mojo and needs freshening up else we will go down quicker than Jordan’s knickers Can’t keep blaming the board for poor results,we got some good players but he’s not getting the best out of them

We needed to keep a bit of stability, which now we've lost. Maybe you're right that a new man will revitalise the team. I have my doubts, but I hope you're right. And I hope DC goes on to great things at another club.

If the owners appoint Cotts of Rag Ass Rovers fame that's me done. An absolute insult.

Gary Bowyer Danny Cowley Paul Tisdale Ian Holloway - If we must until end of the season only. I would put Lee Mansell in and around this first team though straight away. you say that about Holloway but what if he turned it around and we were up in the top 10, would you still feel the same, serious question?

They're not gonna employ Holloway after he publicly backed DC's criticism of the owners. They'll want some desperate journeyman who'll put up with anything.

I did a Wikipedia on Appleton just before you posted that. Jeez he didn't last that long in most of his managerial positions although in most cases it wasn't clear if he left or he was pushed. I remember him being feted at Oxford for a while though. Did a good job at Oxford and signed players like Kemar Roofe (bought for about 100k, sold for £3mil) and Marvin Johnson (signed for 600k, sold for £2.5mil). Achieved automatic promotion to League One and reached the final of the Football League Trophy twice. Yes Appleton would be good but I’m not sure Liam Sercombe would agree. Had massive falling out leading to LS coming here. But despite that Appleton would be good from that list. Not sure that I share some of the concerns about going for the cheap option. I guess you either go for the expensive option and people who have failed before on the merry go round or go for the cheap option, like we did with DC, hoping for success. I’d look in the National and look at up and coming managers. Know others won’t agree. UTG!

Wouldn’t have thought we had any chance of landing Tisdale or Cowley they’re managing the top two clubs in league 2 and will be passing us on their way up.People in football will know all about our crap owners and we’ll only be able to attract a desperate journeyman in my opinion

He has probably burned his bridges though. His latest comments on the post are significantly watered down on what he said before so perhaps he’s interested

Can you imagine his reaction to Payne after he called the travelling gas wankers .... ?? If he got the job today, I would book a hotel in Newcastle now and be there Saturday. Watching the Holloway side was the best period of supporting rovers (highs & lows).. this season and last has been dull, drab boring sh**. UTG
