“We’ve already started to receive CVs, that’s the way things are in football these days. So we will assess the applications along with those CVs that come from people who are already at the club like Graham Coughlan.”
Sorry but that’s enough Rovers for me today. Tells me absolutely everything I need to know about this board, zero ambition. We should be going out contacting clubs about managers and requesting to speak to them. Not sitting around twiddling our thumbs seeing who applies. It’s not a Dam corner shop job vacancy.
Interview with the ‘CEO’ on the post website anyone who wants to feel anymore depressed. Also says that they agreed to sack/let Darrel go on Monday.

It will be interesting to see who applies. Lots of big name players taking first steps into management. Do we want that route ? A lower league success ? An old experienced head ? An ex player ? An internal promotion? Tough call, for me it has to be someone that can walk in the door and instantly lift the players and fans. Maybe an interim manager such as a Holloway (:-() or Lee Mansell could give us that lift as we take some time to think longer term. Id love a young up and coming manager with an experienced dof or assistant. (Gary Penrice type) God knows but if its Cotterill im off Lee Mansell with Lennie Lawrence's guidance would be good.

Not on the list but I’d be happy with Gary Bowyer. Succeeded under challenging conditions with Blackpool and could do a similar job with us. I forgot about him. Not a bad shout at all.

There was a very strong rumour around the club DC would be gone on or by Monday And that's proven to be the case I fully expect the next manager to be a suit with a jelly for a back bone Sadly, I think you might be right.

Gary Bowyer Danny Cowley Paul Tisdale Ian Holloway - If we must until end of the season only.
I would put Lee Mansell in and around this first team though straight away.

Tisdale would be god but would be expensive in compensation to MKD. He would get the best out of Nicholls having worked successfully with him before. He also represents a threat as I think he may make a bid for Sercombe next month.

If we appoint him, it'll start seeming like a conspiracy that the owners are deliberately watering off the fanbase as much as they possibly can!

Andy Tilson for me. Rovers connections, decent man, Cottrill I can’t see it but wouldn’t be a bad choice. Regarding the rag ass Rovers comment, he was/is right.

Seeing that list has made me even more depressed than I was before. I would have DC over any of those. love dc but how can anyone do any worse than the results we have had in 2018 Can’t keep going on about the past that’s gone

I would prefer to reserve judgement until he has had a go at keeping us up. Let's not forget you couldn't get much more Bristol City than Steve Phillips, always enjoyed winding the Rovers fans up and yet arguably can be classed as 'one of our own' given the shift he put in for us in his time here.
