Whatever the team - I don’t see a reaction until a new man is appointed and we sign a striker in January.

One problem Moore's at Bath, unless he's been recalled, and he's not even getting game time in the National League South!

I can't see Nichols getting back in the side until and unless we're safe.
A temporary or permanent new manager won't want to persist in selecting him in the hope he comes good.

Except the new manager comes in and says everyone's got a clean slate, sees him in training and picks him again, and we all have to start counting his non-scoring run from zero again.

I’d play Reilly. He will be up against his manager of last season at St Mirren, so will have a point to prove. Not much of a reason but tbh if “you do what you’ve always done you get what you always got.” So I hope he shakes it up a bit. UTG!

Given the success of Nichols & Payne why would any one play them on Saturday? DC has fallen partly because of the lack of goals - these 2 should be left behind to do their Xmas shopping. I hope he goes with jackubiak and Reilly. You could play Nichols too, stick him wide left and use him as a wide playmaker cutting in on his right.

Let's face it we're probably going to lose this one, but the fact that expectations are low could allow the caretaker manager some latitude to mix things up a bit.
If it were me I'd drop Nicho and Payne and give Reilly and Jaks a start and definately put Sercs in the middle. I'd also give Rollin an opportunity in the back line,we could with do with some strength in there. Would stick with 4-4-2, nice and simple so everyone knows where they need to be.
Bonham
Lightning Leads / Locks / Rollin / Kelly
Bennett / Sercombe / Lines / Rodman
Reilly / Jakattack

Agree bluestone but I think it’ll be Craig not Rollin. UTG!

A defensive coach in charge against the biggest club away in the league?
Reckon hell play 5.4.1
Bonham
Parts J. Clarke Lockyer Craig Martin
Lines Upson Sercombe
Payne Nicholls
I'd want to see a 4.2.3.1 of
Bonham
Leads Lockyer Broadbent Martin
Lines Upson
Matthews Sercombe Bennett
Reilly/jakubiak

Going to be fascinating to see the team he picks given that he, like DC, has been at all of the training and seen what Darrell saw (ie he's not a new manager with no prior knowledge). Just interesting to see if he has a different take on the best side and formation or if he was on the same page as Darrell. It's a free hit really because no-one expects a result against Sunderland so he could afford to totally shake it up. Or will he just be conservative, pick a DC team and try and motivate them better!

If he picks a DC team and they win, that will be very telling. It’s only one game though so probably best not jump to any conclusions too soon. I think we’re basically fckd until we get someone in who can do a goal, regardless of who the Gaffer is.

Don’t get the criticism of Craig until the Doncaster debacle we hadn’t lost a game by more than 1 goal and at one stage had the joint best defensive record with Portsmouth so I’d go with Bonham J Clarke Lockyer Craig Kelly Bennett Lines Secombe O Clarke Nichols Reilly 4-5-1 Nichols on the left

Bonham
Leads Locks Broadbent THD
Upson
Nichols Lines Sercs Rodman
The Jak
Keep it tight. Nichols In midfield. Upson holding. Tell them to fight for their f’ing lives and come back with a classic 0-0 to start a 10 match unbeaten run which leaves us eyeing up a promotion chase......
Shall I go back to sleep now?

My fantasy football team would be:
3-5-2.
Bonham. Kelly. Craig. Locks. jClarke. Leads. Bennett. oClarke. Sinclair. Payne. Jak.
With a reversion to 4-4-2 if need be. Subs. Smith. Upson. Rodman. Reilly. Rollin. Lines. Deon Moore.

Not sure if Jackubiak and Reilly have it at this level. Nothing to lose play them both with Nicholls in place of Bennet Nichols has more physical strength than Bennet and can be just as creative if not more in this role. Place also should be found for Broadbent with instructions to play it simple to a teammate. Lockyer with the same instruction. A place in the squad should be found for Rollin probably on the bench but start getting him involved. Leadbitter over Partington however for this game J.Clark should start at R/B If we can create anything the ball must be kept on the grass to, as we are to small up front to lump it. Players should make their selves available when the keeper has the ball, just to punt the ball up field will mean we will be put immediately under pressure.

Why has he got more chance than than the ones who've scored goals this season? "Nicholls is not a " proven" goalscorer at this level. That's bollox. What is proven is his how ineffective he's been over two seasons." So you want to replace him by unproven strikers at this level, i ask again who would you replace him with so we can analyse your choice ? Like I said earlier after a season and a half it's quite obvious the only thing Nicholls has proven at league one level is that he is a failed experiment. I don't understand why you're trying to turn this into some sort of personal points scoring thing? Reilly and Jakubiak score goals. Nicholls doesn't. The choice seems obvious.
