Fair enough. I’ve not really noticed him since he retired from playing. I know he’s been very successful in property and spent his money wisely which would suggest he’s got a brain.. If he wanted to buy a club then I’d be more interested I think. Done a bit of punditry work and I was never that impressed with what he had to say. On the other hand someone like Matthew Upson definitely spoke well and came across as definite management material. What about if he had a more experienced number 2 who knows the good young lower league players like Chris Hargreaves Lee Mansell or a director of football of his choice ? To be fair Trollope wasn’t management material but did really well with Lennie. You’ll probably know, does Fowler have the badges ?

The state we're in at the moment, both on and off the pitch, I don't think a rookie manager would be the best choice.
Pick the wrong person, and we could go down the same route as last time, 3 or 4 managers in a season.
Imo, an experienced manager is what we need, if it were the end of the season I wouldn't mind appointing him, but now, with the mess we're in, I don't think so.

The shithead at the Post who wrote that article must be watering himself laughing. One thing I’ve leadned from the list of possible new managers in these situations is it rarely turns out to be the one everyone’s talking about. I’ve never bet on a new appointment. I do however bet on sides who gave just sacked their new manager to win that first game. I fancy a double tomorrow , Gas win alongside another club , who’s sacked their manager this week ?

You're not the only one that does that based on our odds of 9/2. That is very short and wouldn't touch that with a barge pole. In fact I think Sunderland at 3/4 is good value.

I’m still going to stick a tenner on us anyway along with another club who’s just sacked their manager. Problem is I’ve been so busy this week I haven’t heard who else has gone ?

Always came across as a bit of a mad scouser as a player. The contacts would surely be there but obviously there’s more to it than that.

Could coach our forwards how to hit the back of the net I think you can only coach so far, players have to possess a natural ability in the first place. I would be looking at replacing our complete forward line, they have all had enough time and chances to prove themselves and let's be fair they just ain't good enough.

I would be looking at replacing our complete forward line, they have all had enough time and chances to prove themselves and let's be fair they just ain't good enough. Maybe they are. Weve got a couple of games to see before the window . A lot of it is down to the way we’ve played this season too. I’ve watched Every home game and a few away games and there’s this pattern of us creating three or four half chances , missing them ( as half chances often are) followed by the opposition having a clear cut and scoring. Lack of width ( inside forwards both sides) and tempo ( lack of pace and inability to move the ball quickly ) means we have a fair bit of possession but don’t create clear cut chances. After every game I look at the stats and way more often than not we’ve had more possession and more shots on goal but lost. That tells the story . We need to move the ball quicker and we need quicker players and a quicker tempo . That can’t be changed over night but telling the players to do that tomorrow and maybe sticking Danny leadbitter on the right wing for example would be a push in the direction that we need to go. I’m sick of watching a slow compact side pass it about in midfield then go back to the Center half before creating the odd half chance. Pace strength and tempo is what succeeds in the lower leagues and DCs coaching badges over the summer seemed to have drilled that out of him. What I really want to see from us going forward is a more direct quicker approach with wide players out wide , not running in to the middle every time we’ve got the bloody ball. yes I know I’ve been saying it all season but I’ve got to say even though I’m sorry to see DC go I’m hopefully it’ll happen now. Whether or not we’ll be good enough to stay up if it does happen remains to be seen if course.

There's not going to be unanimous agreement across the fans whoever gets appointed.
As long as whoever it is comes in with their eyes open to the state of the club so there aren't any excuses then I don't care to a degree.
Why not fowler? My preference however is probably someone like Darren Ferguson.
