Fair enough. I’ve not really noticed him since he retired from playing. I know he’s been very successful in property and spent his money wisely which would suggest he’s got a brain.. If he wanted to buy a club then I’d be more interested I think. Done a bit of punditry work and I was never that impressed with what he had to say. On the other hand someone like Matthew Upson definitely spoke well and came across as definite management material. Is that how you decide if someones management material? How they speak on tv?

Not a fan of the Fowler floating tbh, wouldn't like that appointment on paper. Craig Bellamy on the other hand...

I would rather Robbie get the job than steve cotterill.A younger hungry manager that wants a chance, and has good contacts due to his name.Or a boring f**k,thats a run of the mill manager looking for his next payday. He did well at City because SL gave him the checkbook to buy all the best players from outside the championship and below.
And on top of that he is an ex City manager so would come with that baggage.

Then again I've always thought Gary Neville spoke well.. Dean Saunders used to come up with some astute observations on Radio 5 - was really surprised that he tanked so spectacularly as a manager. I guess you can't judge based on punditry.

Ex-strikers generally don't make good managers. Ex-midfielders or defenders seem to be more successful, probably due to having more tactical awareness. So for me it's a no for Fowler. Alex Ferguson, Brian Clough and Rinus Michels are pretty good exceptions to that rule then.

There are always exception to the rules ( I did say generally) I have never heard of Rinus Michels but I guess you know your stuff. Rinus Michels was the Dutch manager responsible for 'total football' (that inspired Johan Cruyff and Guardiola) who managed Ajax, Barcelona and the Netherlands winning 15 major trophies, including the 1988 European Championships with the Netherlands. He was named Coach of the Century by FIFA in 1999 and in 2007 the greatest post-war football coach by The Times. As a player he scored 121 goals in 269 games for Ajax. His book Team Building: The Road to Success is fantastic and I would highly recommend getting a copy.

Bobby Robson and Kevin Keegan also come to mind as forwards turned pretty successful managers.

When I first posted yesterday morning that RF's odds had improved I thought it was a bit of a joke.
On reflection I can see the appeal to the AQ'S buying in instant publicity and profile, plus great contacts in the game. The connection to the people around RF will appeal to Wael.
It may not be as draft as it seems and with the right assistant maybe a possibility. I think he would need a pretty thorough interview and hope the staff we have on board are up to it.

I think fowler would add more variety and fun to our goal celebrations,if we score that is.

A manager with more money than the owners of a football club would certainly be an interesting proposition. Sports Direct sell more Liverpool shirts in Bristol than in Liverpool, so we could be onto something 😂👍🏻

I bet he’s got great contacts throughout the game.which could possibly be a leveller to the fact he’s inexperienced at management level ? Not sure it would level it. He's hardly worked in the game since retiring. Occasional pundit. Wow. Not. Was on the same EUFA Pro license course as Marcus. But Marcus has about 8 years of real experience as well.

Don't forget his spell as manager of Muangthong United where under Fowler the team suffered more defeats in half a season than the two previous seasons in total.

Like the idea of this. Like some have said. Hungry to prove himself, sure he knows more about football than most of us and has some ideas about how to get a side playing. Surely he would have high standards too playing for Liverpool and dirty Leeds.
