Looking at the shortlist on the betting sites I'm not particularly keen on any of them.... Which is great in a way because I don't have any grounds to get involved in the debate whatsoever.... you just did yo

inb4 Fowler just been sighted at Temple Meads He does know we’re playing away right? Or maybe he’s heading to AG having confused the Stadium of Light with the Stadium of Sh@te?

Big Sam at Stadium of Light. You mentioned Big Sam in another thread. Please tell me you're having a laugh? Not because I think he'd be a bad appointment, but because there is no way in hell he would come to us. It's hardly worth the amount of time it takes to type it, it just wouldn't happen!

John Terry, currently Asst. Mgr. at Villa, he would be a very good appointment, probably would not consider the *** fest & set-up here; for me no panic long term appointment: I would like to see Ian Holloway brought in on a short term arrangement, just to keep BRFC up.

Just light relief old chap to lighten the dreadful state our club is in.Just wishful thinking.

That list looks remarkably short to cover 50/60 years of Rovers managers? We've had inexperienced failures like Rolfe, Dodson & Thompson and experienced successes like Gould over the years, even Trollope had Lawrence alongside him/failed when he left. Looking at other Div 1 clubs the successes are usually ones with a bit of experience, only Francis in modern times was a success at Div 1 level for Rovers with limited experience. Well if you want to make up promotions/cups we've won then by all means add to the list Thank you Weeezord. I thought it was bleeding obvious on a Rovers chat forum that I had selected the six promotions that we’ve had and looked at the managers during those seasons. I am sure most on here appreciate the point I was trying to make on a thread about possible new Rovers managers. Topper perhaps unsure the point I was making. UTG!

1950s promotion Bert Tann. Experienced manager 1974 Don Megson. Little experience 1990 Gerry Francis. Second post after being sacked at Exeter. So not successful when he came. 2007 Paul Trollope. From within and no experience of management although was coaching us at the time. 2014 Darrell 2015 Darrell Correct pp about who we are successful with. Sure others could point to other less experienced managers who’ve not been successful but by and large we do best with those starting off. I hope we do the same this time. In the end I guess it’s more about seeing a spark in someone and having a gut feeling that it could be successful for BRFC. Top clubs won’t do that but it’s what we could do and have done in the past. UTG! That list looks remarkably short to cover 50/60 years of Rovers managers? Topper, I never know if you’re looking for an argument or you just don’t read and consider the post. Of course there are plenty of other inexperienced managers we’ve had over the years. I just thought it was obvious that the six years I mentioned were our promotion years and making the point that what peterparker said about doing best with inexperienced managers was backed up by the evidence in our promotion years.😉 UTG!

Cotterill and Flynn still the two front-runners with Ollie in just behind. I'd still be disappointed if we didn't at least try for Hurst. Either way, thanks but no thanks on Fowler.
