The one thing this means is there's no rush, give him the next two games and then make an assessment on the basis of five matches.
You generally get a bounce in these sort of circumstances, still may be wise to bring in someone in the first week of January.
I'd still like to see Holloway until the end of the season, with the current set of coaches.

The bloke has three promotions as a manager. He's done it with unfancied teams. He did a great job at Rovers for five years. He has managed in the top two flights of football since leaving the gas. He had two promotions as a player and always made the most of the ability he had getting himself to the top of the domestic game and expects the same of others. He has the passion for football and in particular the gas, he has the contacts in the game, he is an honest leader. The word legend is overused but in my lifetime he is up there with the likes of DC and Gerry Francis and then a number of others who he brought to the club: Roberts, Hayles, Cureton, Astafjevs, Walters... Has the guy had a faultless record, of course not, but the guy deserves more respect than that - without Ollie Rovers would not be Rovers.

GC clearly has the knack of being a decent coach. But is he going to be good enough to step up and build a squad.
I would no longer be disappointed if he was given the reigns until the end of the season but don't want to jump to the gun and put a 2 or 3 year deal on the table.
Still early days. Can't knock it so far

He’s been sh**e for the last 5 and a half years now That isn't entirely true, it was 4 and a half seasons ago that Ollie rescued millwall from championship relegation having taken over in January. It didnt work out for him the following season - I don't know the details but millwall are a bottom of the championship / top of league one yoyo team so he was par for the course there. It didn't work out either at QPR but he lasted in that job a lot longer than many have and his record wasn't that awful. He hasn't even been in management for over half of the last four years, March 2015 - Nov 2016 and May 2018-. The problem today is that managers don't get a chance as soon as they hit a bad patch they are out the door, just like dc. Why discount his previous achievements anyway?

Olllies got a great record as a manager , Cotterills not bad either so is hursts etc but if the board give it anyone else for the rest of the season now it’s like tossing a coin. Go with the GMan however and this bloke will take us to safety I’m sure of it.

There are very few managers who have achieved what he has and his record as a rovers fan, player and manager deserves serious respect. Personally my issue is with personality and the rollercoaster ride he often seems to be on. Just before he left Palace he looked a broken man. I feared for his entire mental health. In need of a serious rest or even retirement. I don't think our club needs that, especially not with the current owners / set up.
