After listening to GC’s interview I’m not expecting anyone coming in and the likes of Luke ruse/mayo to go out on loan, The budget was blown at the start of the season and I can’t see anything else happening til the summer depending on our league position If we don't do any significant business I would have us as one of the favourites to get relegated. Same here , sadly.

Good Player. I know his dad through work, so i'll ask the question. Be a good signing for us tbf. Not sure where Scunny get these players from mind. They seem to spend spend spend, James Perch for example. Must be on a massive wedge. Either makes a mockery of FFP or our board. No way would they show this kind of ambition in a million years.

No way would they show this kind of ambition in a million years I think there will be quite a bit of overspending by some clubs -- But look what the alternative brings. In my opinion we need a taller/big Centre half and a bruiser like Cook of Walsall. Relegation is a no no. Still think Rochdale & Wycombe will be joining the bottom 4 soon.

Pretty sure it was him who I saw equalise for Scunthorpe against us at their place in the first match of 16/17 season after MT had put us ahead on our return to league 1. UTG! Yeah it was, I was at that game. All started so well and ended up getting hammered. Did you see that bloke running up and down in the Scunny end with a tag on? l ol Still remember the tag man, he lost the plot, very funny

Its our board. As I have consistently pointed out, the football league turnover figure doesn't include donations from the owners and injections of equity, so in theory we can sign who we want as long as the owners are willing to spend the money. Scunthorpe's owners are seemingly willing to do that, where as ours aren't. www.financialfairplay.co.uk/scmp.php

In other words, exactly the same constraints they put on DC. As they felt it necessary to move DC out and replace him with GC, so you'd think they would agree to finance the recruitment of, say, 3 players.
Apparently not. How much do they realistically expect him to achieve? Talk about tying one hand behind his back!

It’s no secret we have no money to spend in the transfer window unless players leave; the CEO said that a couple of weeks ago. I’m amazed when people suggest putting bids in for players like Stockley. I honestly believe we will be trimming the wage bill not increasing it.

Scunthorpe are owned by the Swann's, with Karin Swann being grand daughter of the founder of the Wilkinsons shops. They sold their shareholding 5 years ago for £60 million and thus have the financial ability (and apparent will) to fund the club. Scunthorpe loses £2 / 3 million a year (sound similar) with the owners having loans to the club @3% above base rate, but also investing £2.2million last year. Interesting article online, with Peter Swann criticising the 500 fans that didn't turn up for a recent home game..... thus c3k fans. Clearly prepared to put his money where his mouth is though

So it's really hard to get players in for a team near the bottom apparently. Sorry GC but what a load of bollocks. Scunny were below us before the weekend and have been making signings, and decent ones at that left right and centre. Wish GC the best but the board will be glad they now have their puppet.

Clearly prepared to put his money where his mouth is though If they are putting £5m(?) a season into the club that £60m won't last long, although you have to question why they bother as they are just chucking their money away, as Scunny are never going to get 10K+ crowds on a regular basis, which makes it all the more irritating our owner won't seemingly invest in the club as they could get a return. Back to GC this is a strange comment : "The new manager said he is working closely with the club’s executives to come up with a transfer strategy, but he has not been given any specific stipulations." How can he try and bring players in if he doesn't know what he can afford? No wonder DC got frustrated with the owners.

Wiki, quotes the family wealth 6 years ago at £340m... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Swann So i guess they can keep throwing their money away for sometime

I don’t get why we demand the owners to put in money.
Yes- it doesn’t include cash injections...
But we need to be self sufficient. Owners just pouring in cash doesn’t necessarily achieve anything. This isn’t fantasy football. We need to improve our revenue.
Now- that’s created through a stadium and other means. Here- by all means critique the actions or lack of. But it’s absolutely fanciful to suggest that money should just be given.

But it’s absolutely fanciful to suggest that money should just be given. They have "increased revenue" by selling our best players. DC said before he left that he has raised £1.5 million through player sales and there is no way we have reinvested that money back into the squad. How about putting that back into where it really matters - the first team. How much would it cost us to get relegated to the basement division? I would suggest it is "absolutely fanciful" to expect us to be "self sufficient" in our current guise.
