Something infectious about the chap, seems a genuinely decent bloke who will call a spade a spade and tell it exactly how it is when needed. Enjoyable listen, worth getting it on catch up if you missed it!

I listened in and thoroughly enjoyed it. GC comes across very well and when asked about stadium news etc, said he quite liked the Mem/ training ground and did not have an issue with either. Probably like music to the ears for our owners.

Coughlan not bothered about a new training ground or stadium and is seemingly happy enough the way things are.
DC gave his blessing and put his name forward to the board
Coughlan- "Mischief makers on the TV saying Rovers were going to interview other candidates (Ben Garner) and I don't know if that was to hurry me up or what or to push me, I don't know" (Contract signed shortly after)
Brentford have the option to recall Bonham this month, But Coughlan hopes that won't be the case. Had a meeting today regarding transfers and discussed alternatives if he does go back.

Man's a winner think we will see prettier football if we achieve 52 points, talks sense loved DC but could not fathom the pep clarkiola approach at the end. Simple instructions to players the man's going to be a good fit at our club.

Appointing GC in my opinion was simply a cheap option and one this board were always going to do. Without new blood in the January window I think we will probably end up in the bottom 4. Yes we've had a couple of wins but after the new manager syndrome wears off I think we'll be back to square one. Hopefully i'm wrong but I don't think I am.

I think he is the right man for now, every manager has to be given a chance, perhaps he will grab this one by the bollocks and we will be good. I do agree. I do care about Stadium and Training grounds. A professional sports team should have a training ground, end of. If board serious wants us to move forward we NEED a stadium.. as I will keep saying if they do not have the money to do so then there would be no embarrassment admitting this and looking to move us on to someone else.

You reckon if we'd lost all five of his caretaker games they would have still appointed him?

Probably not -- But they would have still gone for someone else who would agree to either a small or non existant January transfer budget. I think by winning those games ( and i'm glad he did ) got them off the hook.

He came across very well. He was very generous in his praise of DC and was realistic about how difficult the job will be. He’s not daft enough to believe the hype surrounding his first few matches, where some people are making him out to be the best manager in the clubs history. I am a bit worried that the ambition at the club is fading, but that’s not his fault.

Ambition is led from the top. GC is currently doing the business and may turn out to be a good, bad or indifferent manager. Hopefully he will be fantastic and we'll go on to great things, but we still need a stadium that we can earn revenue from and fill with lots of happy gasheads.

Interesting what he said about the training ground.
But his stadium comments, I get the atmos/imitation factor, but surely he wants a better stadium, although Im sure his priority is simy survival this season and he doesn't want other concerns.

Still gutted DC left, but we need to get behind him & the team. Deserves credit for getting the results so far, perhaps some have pulled their socks up ,confidence is better, football still pretty poor IMO but will take a result over performance any day. The acid test will be when we lose, how we respond. UTG

We didn’t play dire under Dc. We just couldn’t score. Created plenty more per game under dc than gc. Difference is we’re taking our chances now. If only the players could take them before hand and our best ever manager (in my lifetime) would still be here.
