No wonder we can't sign a striker Pompey have already signed them all! Vaughan and Bogle already added to what must have been a decent strike force. How do they get around the salary cap, just revert back to cheating the system again? All this talk about salary cap is complete and utter nonsense. There are a thousand ways around it. Our owners just use it as an excuse. Well it didn't work out that well for Pompey the last time they ignored the salary cap! There aren't "thousands ways around it" the only way is to gift the club money and apart from Scunthorpe's owners I doubt there's many in Div 1 just happy to throw their hard earned money away on a football club.

Seems strange why Pompey are changing their entire strike force when second in the league? Might upset the apple cart if you ask me bit of a risk. They’ve now signed two strikers and after Ellis Harrison as well. Utter madness if they get Ellis as that must leave them with 7 strikers We were in a prime position not so long ago. Successive promotions and then a 10th place finish. There, right there, was the time we had to invest and kick on. Portsmouth see that same opportunity for themselves, and they are investing.

But isn't this chicken and egg.... Since the uwe fell through (for whatever reasons) there isn't really anything worth investing in?

What I'm saying is we need investment in infrastructure before anything else. I would say it has to be the number one priority, I'll personally be happy with budget transfers (other clubs manage this) so long as we have longer term ambitions....

Nah, I think Nobby has the right idea. I stopped caring about Rovers a few months ago. It's really quite liberating.

Lower your expectations to zero, then you can't get disappointed. If anything good happens, it's a bonus ! I say this with 49 years experience of supporting Rovers to back me up.

Im really not arsed any more. I don't post that much any more, I rarely read half the threads on here and I'm probably not going to bother with a ST next year.

It's the safest way to deal with grief. Win all our remaining games this season and you'll be back with us.

I can't give you a like though, as it's really a sad situation. I think there are many more that share that feeling.

Yep , exactly the same here , my son who’s been a season ticket holder since he was 8 ( he’s almost 15 now ) has stopped attending as he’s got other things to do , I may just do the same , it’s such a shame as I really thought , just for once , that the whole club had finally turned a massive corner , sadly though .....

You sense that's how the conversation went between DC/SH & Wael then, as LPGas suggests, DC blew £650K+ of the ALQ's money on Nichols, Payne, Mensah & Bennett, so no wonder Hanl reigned in the spending.

After 43 years there were times when I was ecstatic when we won and bloody miserable when we lost. Now it's just a case of looking at the result and shutting the computer down with no real emotion either way.

He wouldn't even be in for him, he thinks what we have got is fine. His number 1 priority in this window was fending off all the offers for Nichols. At least he has achieved that goal...although by default because no-one wants him. You can see why C*** fans call us the gift that keeps on giving at times like these... If only we fans had the bollocks to show how we feel about it all... How? Serious question. Shall we copy Blackpool and Charlton? UTG?

The spending stopped before that otherwise we would be training at the Colony by now. See the UWE have their training facilities up and functioning.

Exactly my view, would happily watch us at a lower standard with crappier players if we were actually investing for the long term / making progress off the pitch.
