Thought we had a plan rejected in the 80's at Kingswood where the plans were to drop the proposed stadium slightly below Ground level to lessen the noise impact.Recall an FA rep involved in our planning application being devastated the plans were rejected.I was at an FA Refs seminar when he told me. Even non league clubs are showing us the way and our lack of anything just goes on forever.Nothing happening so why the 'confidentiality clause?'

Its London. Things get built there. In fact things get built in most places. Bristol is the exception. Please stop with this generalisation. Off the top of my head I can think of: - Huge blocks of flats in Redcliffe (with indoor market I'm hearing) - Extension to Wapping Wharf - Brandon Yard housing - East street redevelopment - Bottom of North street housing development - All the work thats going on round temple meads Thats JUST off the top of my head. Plenty gets built in Bristol, its not Bristols fault we can't get our sh** together to get a new stadium How many years have they been talking about the "Bristol Arena" ?

If theres one club that deserves it then its them.Very happy for them! But its crazy to think that a club that was not even created little over a decade ago has done this, yet a club with the large potential we have cant do sh**! Just proves what a Libtard city we live in! Look at what the people of Horfield (where I grew up btw) did with the redevelopment of the Mem , then again with the sainsburys development. Is surely about the club not having a pot to water in more than the nimby's ? Plenty of land outside the city if the money was there.

Weird how City have redeveloped then. But after how many years of them trying? then all the efforts over Ashton vale etc..? Main reason they got there in the end was due to the Billionaire ploughing the dosh into them tho. Doesn't take away from the fact that our city is very Leftie thinking, and to PC in terms of redevelopment and is very backward unless your building student housing๐๐๐ Gotta help those students! They need to to do there law degrees to then work in retail for the rest of there lives! If you get a law degree, you ain't working in retail, unless its the Law Department of Marks and Spencer's. I take your general point about people wasting 3 years on mickey mouse degrees the cost of which they will never repay that are totally irrelevant to the workplace, so end up in (perfectly fine) jobs in retail or call centres which they could have done aged 18

I believe there were objections because a) Light pollution from floodlights although they were to go in the roof. b) Wildlife trust (or one of the subsidaries) not happy as animals that weren't there might move in. I believe it was badgers and there were no sets c) locals worried about roads although the council built the ring road with access roads being where they would have been anyway. Having the stadium blamed for something that was already going to happen ๐ค

A lot like our stadium plans.... I do though think that BCC is anti commerce and the city and its immediate surrounding areas have been a success despite themselves. This has been the case for decades. Home counties assholes moving into BS7 and BS3 complaining about anything associated with stadia that have been in those postcodes for 100 years or more, and get themselves into organised well funded groups to argue the toss. I think Bristol city centre is dying actually.

Especially when you see articles like this: startups.co.uk/best-place-to-start-a-business-outside-of-london-revealed/The city centre is dying, I agree. However that is a general downward trend for the high street (see Debenhams, BHS, etc) rather than BCC. I'm sticking up for them so much I feel like I should be on the payroll!

Great for Wimbledon, best of luck to them; although it makes my blood boil, when I think about the state of our club under the ownership of WAQ & family, if they do not want to invest then I wish they would sell up and go.

Exactly Tommy. Rovers have never had a planning application turned down so we canโt blame the local authorities for our own failure. Are you sure? Name one.
