An overhyped friendly is all it is, not a great performance but I’m sure we’ll do better when it matters. Oh, and never play Walker and Stones as a CB partnership ever again. Dreadful. Walker was playing RB. Maguire and Stones were CBs.

I knew that the way the media were hyping this one up that we’d lose, probably look crap and knackered after a long season. Glad I choose not to watch and allow my hopes to be raised again! 👍🏻 I’m learning! It’s only taken like 25 years of watching England mind! Lol!

Would try out Keane, Rose and Trent in the 3rd place playoff.

Same old England 😂
Was like watching Burnley trying to emulate Man City.

How error phone can one player be? I think he was dialing that performance in.

It is easy to see the future for England. Alexander-Arnold at RB, Hudson-Odai, Loftus-Cheeks in there somewhere. Add a fit Harry Kane. It was noticable that not only were his goals missed, but his general link-up play as well. He is one of the best passers of a ball in the team! Ross Barkeley, Fabien Delph? Really. Neither can hardly get a game for their clubs. Stones....oh dear. He needs to go back to the School of Defending to re-learn that sometimes you just have to put your boot through the ball and send it. Lingard? No, he just doesn't bring anything to the team. Also, at this time, Henderson is also a must play.
It was the wrong time for England. I've said elsewhere that I think this is a good competition, but these final games are too late as the season finished ages ago and the players just want to hit the beach.

He was an embarrassment and shouldn’t have played as was beyond ring rusty

IMO the style we’re trying to play isn’t the issue, but the personnel (particularly in midfield) is.
Winks, Maddison & Grealish all excellent at creating angles to receive the ball off the defence, handling it in tight areas & moving it to a teammate in a better position. Delph and Barkley aren’t.
Stones also showing the same deficiencies he was showing 3/4 years ago at Everton, which is worrying for a bloke who has played under Guardiola for a few seasons now.
Time to start building the team around the likes of Trent, Gomez, Winks, Maddison etc. for me.
