As Rovers lost out on lots of potential revenue by not showing the World Cup (staggering decision!), will they be showing England's attempt to actually win a competition in June in the bars at the Mem?

I attended every England nations league match (Bar Croatia of course, but was still out there for the beverages) and it was far from Mickey Mouse stuff. Packed stadiums, strong first XI’s from all wanting to win, a very successful competition for its first run.
Roll on a week in the Porto sunshine, coming up against a rejuvenated Holland in Guimaraes will be quite the test.
Regarding the OP, Rovers should definitely start opening doors for the bigger of the England games. An opportunity missed, every single time. Especially having seen footage of the Sports bar down The Gate during WC2018.

Even more this summer giving the fact that the games are on Sky on not terrestrial TV so a lot of people will be looking for places to watch.

I thought we were boycotting everything that promotes inequality in the distribution of finance in football and therefore the demise of smaller clubs. (EG Sky TV and the checkatrade trophy) Honest question

Maybe someone could send a message to Tom Gorringe and ask if the club has plans for this? Would be a great idea.

I don't even really understand what the Nations League competition is all about.
Apart, of course, from generating lots of TV and advertising revenue by having a concocted finals competition in the odd-numbered years when there is no Euro or World Cup. I'm probably being cynical, I'm sure it'll grow and grow. I suppose it's better than friendlies.

Porto is a great place to visit - chuck in an England game for good measure is just the job. Only hope everyone (including the dutch) behaves themselves

Definitely. I think its a really good way of getting rid of most of the boring friendlies and the majority of the games were well supported and the teams were mostly filled with first choice players who played like they were up for doing well in the tournament. FIFA are a corrupt organisation who for years have been ripping the heart out of the game but this tournament definitely seems to be a step in the right direction. I’m really looking forward to the game although I’ll have to avoid the score until I watch the highlights as I’m out with the mrs for our anniversary.

Exactly- Le Tournoi was invitational and only 12 teams were eligible for the nations league finals, that’s why I say it’s barely more credible. It omits teams who might be in a better position to challenge for the trophy but can’t because they are in a lower pot than the likes of Germany who were pretty woeful in the league format. As said by a poster above, it’s just a bit of fluff to make more money and also give some purpose to actually winning the top leagues. The winner of the competition won’t be complaining but I don’t think the 3 teams who are knocked out at this stage will be seeing it as a missed opportunity either.
