I get we all love Sinclair... but do you honestly think Ogogo isn't an upgrade? I really can't see it. To each their own, to be fair.

No great surprises, but from what I've heard and seen I thought that Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist was worth persevering with.

No real surprise re: Leads and Sinclair, but still a tad depressing to see them go. I'd gotten used to them and to our days of promotions. Can't express how grateful I am to both of them for their services, admittedly more Sincs than Leads but nevertheless, very grateful. Hopefully they'll go on to have even better days elsewhere.
Also not surprised with the Development Squad releases, and Lines and Lockyer were expected.
What baffles me is releasing both goalkeepers seemingly out of nowhere. Like them or hate them, Smith and Slocombe do have enough experience to at least feature on the bench, and with no guarantee that Bonham will join us after being released from Brentford, it seems a bit stupid to let the two of them get the axe at the same time and leave only Andre Jr. at the team. Especially with our post-Mildenhall troubled past regarding keepers.
I sincerely hope that they have a plan by doing this, instead of cycling through 4 or 5 loan keepers all season.

We’ve lost our heartbeat! Bristol Rovers are dead! 😜

This is typical Rovers, they can't even produced a retained list without it being complete! I can't understand why we're offering Parts a new contract as he's struggled in virtually every game he's played this season, surely there's better players out there we could sign? Now Leads has gone we're still going to have no pace down our right side next season if JC & Parts sign new contracts. Disappointed the club didn't let Sincs have a decent send off on Saturday, personally I'd have sooner thanked him for his time at the club than Locks who's simply after more £'s. Mensah and Matthews are on the list of loan players returning. Not sure why people are saying otherwise! Unless the club have updated their page of course.
Yeah, they updated the page.

No real surprises in there but it does show we are in for a big summer in terms of recruitment with a lot of the first team squad on their way. Disappointed to see Sinclair go but is probably the right decision. Partington is the strange one for me but as long as he as seen as back up then I am not overly worried. Don't know why Mensah or Matthews are't included on the list of loan players returning. Assume they are both still under contract? This is typical Rovers, they can't even produced a retained list without it being complete! Very disrespectful to Tom Lockyer. Been a very loyal servant of the club and I for one don't blame him for trying to better himself elsewhere.

Smith's one of the worst keepers I've ever watched, so won't be difficult to replace and Slocombe moved back up north over nine months ago.

Oh please, I can think of at least five worse keepers than Smith in the last few years. His technical side is good, his mental attributes are what haven't been up to par. I think he's good enough for backup, only real issue would be a wage reduction.

So so sad to see Sinclair go. He deserves a chance for us Gasheads to say goodbye to him and show our appreciation. True legend of the club in my eyes. I've never seen a player bust a gut like he has for us over the last 5 years and he epitomised the change of culture DC cultivated after our relegation to the Conference. I understand there is little room for sentiment and sadly he's been injured too often, but he's such a character and will be sorely missed. Spot on Jomo. UTG!

It does make me laugh how we almost went down this season but for the impact of the new manager and JCH, and to some extent Ogogo and yet there are plenty on here who don't understand/accept why we are releasing a good chunk of the first team squad. It's evolution (sorry about that one !) - GC trying to clear out non-starting players ( I'd guess that none of them started more than 20 league games this season) so he can get some new (better) players in. He's also got a handful - players he shipped out on loan and possibly a few regulars (Nichols) who he'll try to move on. If the new signings are anything like JCH and Ogogo then I'm much more confident we can finish top half next season instead of looking relegation certs like back in December ! Utg !

I love Sinclair as much as the next guy but confused as to why so many people are surprised he's off. Not technically good enough for L1 and sadly you can't give someone a new deal solely for their off-field persona. I will honestly miss the guy but if it frees more room in the budget for better players then I'm all for it. Hope you land a good move somewhere Stu, you've been a fantastic servant to our club over the past five years or so! He also lost his place to new signing Ogogo - a younger, sharper model ! Younger model but not by much. Sharper, that remains to be seen. But certainly a model GC preferred and he’s manager. UTG!

Sincs has problems with his knees , he cant play 2 games in a week and will have to have a new knee fitted in the near future, told us this at the players golf day back in October think he will be going back to part time with his brother.

To each their own, to be fair. I love SS and I also feel that Agogo has done a decent job to help us stay up. Im really sad to see Stu go for all the reasons others have said. But saying all that I wouldn’t want to disrespect Agogo and turn it into a “who is best” type of thing. Hope Agogo stays as long and is as successful. In a way I’m glad to see GC making a difficult decision and he’s probably thought much the same as others have said on this thread and has come down on the side of knowing we need more creativity in the team and with Ollie, Upson and Agogo under contract we have enough defensive midfielders. Difficult decision but being manager one that he felt he had to make. Let’s hope it’s the right one, time will tell. UTG!

The writing was on the wall when Coughlan signed Ogogo. Not sure that was an upgrade to be honest but that's the manager's perogative I guess. Brave shout though, ripping out the heart of the successful team. He really can't hide behind what he's inherited now. Next season will be Coughlan's team. Thats simply not true though as he is stuck with loads of players still under contract who cant cut it in league one. If he gets rid of Payne, recruits reasonably well and adopts a passing game, I see no reason why we shouldn't achieve mid table next season. Aside from Payne and possibly Mensah and Matthews, I'm not sure who from the current first team squad cannot cut it at this level. The concern for me is that he's let go of one or two who can.

Absolutely vital that we get rid of Payne and Bennett somehow ...I sense both are toxic in and around the first team squad.
Maybe Swindon take Bennett but I sense we are stuck with Payne .. maybe JCH might sort him out?
I guess I’m on my own when I say I would stick with Mensah... never really given a proper shot with DC... 3month contract show us what you can do ?
