Thing is stats don't show everything. He's quite a bit younger than Bonham isn't he?? So how was Bonham doing at that age? Plus how many did he save etc? Still think we need another keeper, but he could be good. Coventry fans gutted to see Davies leave. Majority have said how good he is and hopefully he's one that GC can get the best out of. I don't judge player's until they play for us. I have been happy about signings and they have flopped. I have thought why did we sign them and they have done well. At the same age Bonham was keeping 15 clean sheets for Carlisle. I'm hoping the Dutch lad will be decent, but his C.V. isn't anywhere near as impressive as Bonham's. Hopefully the other keeper we're bringing in will be of a similar level to Bonham. A few fans on the internet are gutted to see Davies leave after his 19 apps in the league and 30 goals conceded, even though they had two better first choice centre backs and have now signed Kyle McFadzean, a centre back with 100+ appearances at this level and 100+ appearances in the Championship? All we can go on and look at is the new signings past experience, but like you said, don't judge a player until they have played for us. Hopefully they all prove to be good signings. None of that nonsense, this is Bristol Rovers
We rubbish them before, rubbish them whilst here and rubbish them when they do well somewhere else

Any progress with these lads that Cogs mentioned?
"I'm in for one or two, what people would call marquee signings, big players, big names."

Probably still on the boil. Marquee signings have their pick of the market.

Be a bloody miracle if we see ANY big players, big name players join us. Talk seems never to materialise at this club and IMO there are no signs whatsoever that we will be anything other than one of the bottom half of League 1 which will inevitably be involved in a fight to stay up. We needed some PERMANENT attacking/creative signings but that looks as far away as ever. Disappointed so far but not surprised.

None at all to be honest. Look at what the loanees did at Derby last season!

I’ve struggled with my health recently! Changed my priorities! It changes everything doesn’t it. I’m very sorry to hear it as I know how easy most of us live up until we get sick. We never think this will happen but, if it does, it certainly makes for a hard time of it. I hope that whatever it is, can be treated and cured. Good luck and I wish you all the best. If you ever feel like talking then message me ok.

Was Billy Bodin?

What’s the obsession with big names, big signings? We’re BRFC and we’re at our best buying young hungry players eager to do well. No reason why they can’t do as well as others. Stay within our budget and improve the team. Don’t want to risk our future on being a Bolton, Bury or Notts Co, signing anything that moves on the strength of being a big name. Good to have a young striker coming in eager to improve. UTG!

Why do signings have to be big name players? People seem obsessed by signing names and everyone always seem to look at other clubs in envy. Names don’t make a team. There were plenty of people last season purring over players that others teams had signed and those same teams had no better seasons than ours. I don’t care about marquee signings just aslong as the signings we are making are well thought out and improve the team based on what the manger wants to achieve. We haven’t kicked a ball yet in the new season and the transfer window isn’t shut, let’s just try to get behind the team and new signings and judge them on their ability during the season not the name on their back
