The Readings fans do seem to agree that distribution isn't the best and he is prone to punch rather than catch.

www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2019/july/anssi-jaakkola-signs/The Club is delighted to announce the signing of Finnish goalkeeper, Anssi Jaakkola. The former Reading goalkeeper arrives at the Mem upon the expiry of his contract with the Championship outfit. The 32-year-old Finnish international joins ahead of the start of Rovers' pre-season fixtures and will join his new teammates for the pre-season training camp in Ireland next week. The 6 ft 4' goalkeeper began his career in his native Finland with TP-47, making his debut at 17, before joining Italian side Siena in 2006. A stint with Slavia Prague followed before a move to Scotland saw the 'keeper join Kilmarnock in 2011. It was during his time at Rugby Park that the goalkeeper made his first appearance for the Finnish national side, making his international debut against Sweden, the first of three senior caps to date. In 2013, Jaakkola made the switch to South Africa to feature for Ajax Cape Town, spending a three-year spell and tallying over 70 appearances. A move to Reading in 2016 saw the goalkeeper return to the UK – with his first appearance for Reading coming in an EFL Cup fixture against Plymouth in August 2016. Last season, Anssi featured 16 times in all competitions for the Royals, before departing the Madejski at end of the 2018/19 campaign. Speaking about the addition of the goalkeeper to his playing squad, Manager Graham Coughlan said, "Anssi is a player that comes highly recommended to us and we are excited to have him at the club. "He's been playing at a higher level and has a wealth of experience under his belt, playing in a number of different leagues and I'm sure he will be a big benefit to us. "The goalkeeping department now has a good degree of competition and it's our hope that the players will push each other to get the best out of one another. "Anssi's signing marks another milestone in our preparations for next season and I'm glad that the deal has been concluded during the early stages of pre-season." He’s not Finnish, he’s only 32. Sorry, couldn’t resist it. Welcome to the club.

I know nothing about either of our foreign keepers or which one will start as No. 1 , it will be interesting if they are up to the standards set by the keeper we had last season. Anyone know who was the player we missed out on today.

Permanent Goalkeepers at 6”4 and 6”7? That will do just nicely. Can we play one of them up front ?

Anyone know who was the player we missed out on today. The new keeper played 16 Championship games last season, there's no reason why he wouldn't be up to Bonham's standard, given he wasn't considered good enough for the Championship. Surely an ex Championship goalie must be better than our just released ex Div 2 goalies.
