So to distract us all from the annoncements of the last couple of days, lets turn our attention to the transfer window.
Do you think we will sign anyone? Any realistic targets you would like to see? Now we have had a competitive fixture, what area do we desperately need to strengthen?

I saw Lord Lucan in the club shop this morning and he was buying a XXL Shirt with BALE written on the back ……….. or did it say Jail?
Maybe he is our mystery backer?

Still mustn’t crumble.

I listenned to the interview with Wael last night and apart from the news regarding the stadium he said GC has a top half L1 budget.
Top half can of course mean 12th but I still wouldn't describe that as a shoestring budget as some reports suggest.
That is of course if you believe what Wael says but if it's true I'd like to think there will be 2 or 3 new faces before the end of the month.
Whether we get the quality creative midfielder we're crying out for I'm not so sure. Despite identifying it as a priority GC has been unable to sign a single attacking midfielder or winger since he took charge.

We could have a top half budget and have already spent it!

In an ideal world I'd like us to bring in a wide midfielder, attacking midfielder and a centre back. Callum Gribbin (Free), Callum Roberts (Free) and Cian Harries (Swansea, loan) would be good.

Yes, there’s a first time for everything. Apart from us winning the first league game of the season of course.

At least it should mean that no club will come in for JCH, hopefully, that means we should finally see play on Saturday! Otherwise the window closing this week is fairly meaningless for Div 1/2 clubs.

Nothing has changed has it? Creativity in midfield, perhaps some width if GC is going to play that way. But with Bennett and Rodman already here not expecting any more width tbh. What we need now is no different than the last 18 months. Whether we get it is a completely different matter! UTG!

I think you mentioned a couple of these before and Gribben a few times. As time goes on, surprised others haven’t signed them already so perhaps it’s not impossible that they are still thinking offers over. What’s your take on it now compared to weeks ago when first mentioned? UTG!

Some area of the club is not coming out of this looking very good.
Wael says it’s a top half budget, the manager says we can’t compete with Blackpool. I can’t imagine Blackpool’s budget is top 7, if so that doesn’t leave much room for manoeuvre for Wael’s claim.
From my POV it’s not a top half budget, if it is then bugger me it’s been badly squandered. How can we have a top half budget and yet still lack a half decent creative player?
As far as signings go I think it all depends on whether Bennett is deemed surplus to requirements and if he is whether anyone else will take him on loan and pay a sizeable chunk of his wages.

Wael never mentioned the play off's or top 6 so I'm guessing by top half budget he probably does mean somewhere between 8th to 12th.
I think we need to keep Bennett and add another. Bennett is the only creative player we have and would already have an assist to his name if Clarke had finished our best chance at Blackpool.
We need Bennett and another creative midfielder.
We also need to get some pace into our midfield because it's far too pedestrian.

Would be good signings that could potentially make us a few quid in the future if sold on. You could be right and they're still thinking over offers.

We already have players on decent wages, that have not been worth it so far. IE Rodman, Bennett, Nichols. I expect we are still paying towards the wages of player's that have gone out on loan as well. Our budget could be bigger than some clubs, but they have more to spend on wages in this window.
