As mentioned on another thread, top 10 by Christmas, 10k on the gate Boxing Day. Premiership side Away in the League/FA Cup Cup, sold out in an hour and message boards full of glory fans on the beg. For me, it’s sticking through it thick & thin. With no dummy spitting or toys out the pram. Turn up, back the boys, back the gaffer & climb that table. Bit like north korea then?

I just cannot take to coughlan or his brand of football or his nasty swipes at lines and reilly or his bullsh** about pace and power and marquee signings. I was hoping plymouth would offer him the job but hey ho. Posters were correct to say that dc overplayed his hand on moaning about the owners. But i prefer that to the nodding donkey yes man that coughlan is.

Sounds a bit more like a Boris Johnson speech- we can make the Gas great again just by being a bit more positive, actual skill be damned! One thing is for sure, I bet Mr Ladbrokes would love to give a quote and take someone’s money in return for a bet of top 10 at Christmas nevermind a 10k gate on Boxing Day with GC in charge when we have yet to score a goal!

Hands tied with the budget but yet not spent particularly well all the same and no real pretence to play the sort of football he promised in the summer. Which makes him seem a bit of a bluffer. Talking the talk only to produce football that has been compared to Ian Atkins era is pretty bad. He needs results now- it’s the only way football like that will be tolerated in the long run.

The only reason we aren’t league two fodder right now, is because of GC. That much is fact. I for one believe he deserves a fair bit more than 180mins of football to get his squad firing on all cylinders. For anyone to use last seasons performances as a weapon against him, is quite frankly insane. Given its the only thing that has the fixture list reading Ipswich, Sunderland & Portsmouth. Not Crawley, Salford & Morcambe.

Wow you all get so offended so easily, it's not been a great start yet again. It is possible to have a bit of a laugh without being sacrilegious, we'll wait and see what happens but until jch is fit we have no striker why didn't we recruit, other than the loanee. Chill out people, but if this is what we're in for this year then don't expect the gates to get better So...you title a thread GC Out but you’re just having a bit of a laugh? Comedy gold it’s not!!

To be honest he has had the whole summer and doesn't seem to have addressed ANY of the problems that were glaringly obvious last season. Thats my issue. I know he had to replace Locks and the GK,which he seems to have done. But take JCH out and we are the same poor - no Im sorry...sh**e side going forward that we were in our final game in May. JCH is far from proven btw..and how does anything in his career before joining us prove that earlier this year was anything but a purple patch for him? - I dont think it was for the record, and he is the real deal, but still? Our attacking side of the team was why we were struggling, and DC got sacked. For GC not to address this as his 1st,and main area to improve this summer is crimial and will be the reason we could go down, and he loses his job if that happens. What in the first two games suggests otherwise? No width or creative play in midfield, and a shocking TN STILL STARTING UP FRONT - says Im sadly right.

I feel he is a divisive character . That plays a very negative game ... his behaviour towards Chris lines was disgusting imo... have changed my mind on him . Utg

Credit to GC for last season, but he got lucky with JCH, last season he had it spot on, Saturday with three CDM, no width, a team with more defence options than the USA, I am bored with his brand of football, I thought on Saturday during the game wouldn't it be good if they could show a film on the big screen anything to make the afternoon entertaining, plus now he as his assistant Joe Dunne, again a lower league defender, thank goodness we have Tranmere and Stefan then Oxford, with possibly Matty T, next at Mem at least we can then generate a decent atmosphere because the sides GC puts out ain't going to.

Goodness me we have some divisive fans don’t we?
Same as any club I suppose
For what it’s worth I’m saddened by the hostility. GC saved our skins last season, I didn’t want DC sacked but I think In the end he wanted out.
He deserves patience. He has bought well in my opinion and once he has a fully fit squad I think we will see a more expansive game.
My only gripe with him would be his refusal to incorporate some youth in there. Get this lad Tomlinson involved. Drop Nichols and try Moore. Tonight is the perfect chance to say to 3 or 4 of them go out and keep that shirt
But he deserves time to get it right. Get behind him and we might be surprised. Be brave GC. We will back you if you play some our golden generation!

With several weeks of the window left it is possible to pick up and move on players, lets judge him when we are 10+ games into the season not two.
Tonight I hope we go a bit more expansive and the fans get behind them, I will be enjoying the game with my buddies from the FFSC - UTG

We certainly seem to be in a situation on the forum where a lot of new threads are being created with a negative agenda.... We do have the occasional positive one, but not many.... I think its advisable to remind people that there are many threads that are relevant to the subject they wish to expand upon and their thoughts could be posted into one of these, rather than start an entirely new thread.... It just makes the place feel a bit like a pit of misery and defeatism.... Let’s take the OP to the pit of misery, Dilly Dilly! Ridiculous thread only 2 games in, get a f**king grip!

It's not really when we're witnessing similar "avoid defeat at all costs" performances this season, if we have a season of performances at the Mem like Saturday's then playing, and beating, the likes of Crawley etc may have been far more enjoyable. Anyway lets hope a we start with an attacking line up tonight and a win then kick starts our season.

To be replaced by?........ I was being a bit facetious, but like others have said midfield and a goal scorer needed I think, we never seem to start well I guess, kinda traditional I suppose We cant say we havnt started well until 6 games in imho

So why not DC out so early after his continued rubbish starts. GC saved us from certain relegation last season He didn’t get lucky with JCH as he explained he knew him and what he had the potential to do. He was lumbered with the likes of non prolific scoring forwards like Nichols and Reilly as I’m sure he would have sold them if he could. He certainly was quick to get rid of Payne - another DC buy. He had had to rebuild the whole back 4 as a priority and I think he hadn’t done a bad job - they will need time to build a partnership. Yes he needs a winger and a creative midfielder but all DCs teams were lacking after our 1st season back in L1 GC says he knows what he wants let’s hope he get it with 21 days of the transfer market open We traditionally are last minute buyers do why not GC Out after 3 games think the OP has more chance of that

Agreed, but I differ slightly in that I have been encouraged by his attitude to youth, he has talked about his high hopes for them, given a few a lot of game time preseason, and I fully expect a couple of debuts soon. I was though disappointed and surprised that Tomlinson or Smith were not in last Saturdays squad and would like to try Ollie, Ogogo, Russe, Tomlinson across midfield , got nowt to lose!

Whilst I remain on the fence over GC as Manager of our club this topic is absolutely ridiculous as IMO we are better prepared for this season than any under DC.Ok the majority of problems that were there last season have not been sorted- we still have little pace, power or creativity in the side BUT and this is a big but GC had to through no fault of his own replace pretty well his entire defence and goalkeepers which I believe he has done pretty well. My other problem is really what he faces now which is usual Rovers- having to try to replace the attacking side of the team when he is stuck with mainly DC signings. It is OK for loads to say well he could get rid of the big earners but I am not convinced that the Owners will allow him to bring in replacements that are any better. Every season as I see it our budget has been reduced from the day Dave Penney came in and gave that fateful comment that we were paying too much!! We have IMO now gone the opposite way and are paying too little. OK we get rid of Rodman, Nichols, Sercombe, Ollie Clarke, Upson and start again but can anybody honestly put hand to heart and say that GC will be able to get in any better with the budget he has been given? Its OK Pirate giving him 500 players who he could sign but how many of Pirates "recommendations" actually go on and sign for somebody else and do well?- not many I would say because the majority of his suggestions would be a risk and that is the problem. What we really need is the no risk but that costs money- Ched Evans was the best example of a player who would have been no risk and definitely would have done the job required- Paddy Madden may have been another,Matt Godden another, the list could go on but the truth is that the only mistake so far that GC has made is probably setting his sights on this type of player but having to face the fact that they just wouldn't fit in his budget and IMO he has one hell of a job to get any players in who will be better than those mentioned.
JCH was great business by GC but now he has to put up with some saying he was "lucky"- well all I can say is that I hope he is lucky again with two, three or even four signings before the deadline because that is what he will need to be under the present regime. I wish him luck and hope that come the end of the season GC will still be there hopefully with a more attacking team.
