Its still a working class game though isn't it? I guess the concept of what is or isn't working class may have changed in the last 30 or so years, just because folk don't work down a mine anymore doesn't change class structure does it? Under a communist state there is no class structure and that's what we will get if the Corbyn mob get in You don't half come out with some real sh**e man.....

How do you work that out? The season tickets for all areas of AG are more expensive, by about £25-£100 per season depending on where you want to sit. Football used to be a working class mans game, but with sponsorship and other corporate pay days then the price of the game has gone up. Parts of the football matchday has been made super exclusive too. Like qsomeone else has stated, if we had a 25k arena we weren’t filling where there was a better matchday experience to offer then we could do lots of special offers. Its still a working class game though isn't it? I guess the concept of what is or isn't working class may have changed in the last 30 or so years, just because folk don't work down a mine anymore doesn't change class structure does it? You are right but the prices do not reflect your average working man.

Watching any professional sport is generally expensive. So relatively speaking the answer has to be No.
For Race day at the British Grand Prix access to the grounds only (i.e. no stands, covered area or anything), just a field from where you can see the track standing on a grass bank is £145.... or you can get in to see first and second practice for £55. I enjoy F1 and follow all the racing, but I know where I would find best value for money out of these two.

Stop being so logical , I remember going to the cinema on a Saturday morning for a few pence. You would be lucky to get change out of a tenner these days, everything is getting more expensive

Yes Rovers are getting to expensive to watch now. This season the club put the cost of on-site parking upto £170 from £130 an increase of £40. This is not a luxury for us, its a requirement as we have disabled people who need to be close by to enjoy the game.
Now i have no problem with the price going up by £40 if it was justified by better parking facilities, but todate no changes have been made to the car park and i can only assume its market forces that justifies the massive increase.
On a side note most of the away games we go to have no charge or a reduced charge for disabled fans
Also Rovers are one of the few clubs in the league that states you have to be 65 to qualify for a Senior ticket, most other clubs its 60

I was really annoyed the other day when the staff at the O**** wouldn't accept a £50 note to pay for my pick 'n' mix. In the end I had to pay with two twenties and a ten.....(Viz)

The irony of this post is that I love F1 too, and go to the British GP every year and I think a grandstand seat is very good value for money (depending on where you sit) if you are keen to watch the support races like I am and race day is the carnival day where the atmosphere is just like no other. I enjoy the FP days but there is little sense of atmosphere because it doesn’t mean anything. I’ve also paid £45+ all the add ons to sit in a soaking wet cricket ground and see about 5 overs of not a lot of action. At least football and F1 can carry on regardless of the elements. At the end of the day, if you enjoy going to watch live sport, it’s rare you go just for that. You go to make a few memories along the way and have some time with your mates/family. And those days can also be priceless.

Had a look at some old ticket stubs from the last four years last night;
Borussia Dortmund vs Wolfsburg - €9 AC Milan vs Chievo - €14 Dynamo Kyiv vs Olympiakos - Roughly £14 for hospitality* Barcelona vs Levante - €20 Ajax vs Heerenveen - €14 Lille vs Lyon - €19 Genk vs Fola Esch - €10
It's a British problem unfortunately.
*Tickets started from around £1.40.

That does put it on perspective, but it would be interesting to see how that compares to the local cost of living, wages, price of beer etc?

I debated putting Dynamo Kyiv in purely on the basis it is a lot different. However there's not a huge difference in all the others, they are Western European countries.

How much is F3 to watch, ive no idea myself but would be more comparable i suppose to third tier football.

Very true, the Barcelona match is very telling actually... And most are teams that have played in the Champions League. There's got to be something to it though. I'd agree with previous sentiments that the English game does suffer from being over monied I'm general, but that's quite a difference you've highlighted there.

I doubt you'll get much support on here when most of us have to park 10/15 mins walk away on match days.

Just wondered if any of you think L1 football at 20 -25 quid a ticket is a good price ? we've lost 2,000 from our crowds of the last couple of seasons and wonder how we can get those 9,000 crowds back. I noticed that Notts County in the National League had entry for the game (with a seat) at 3 quid today and got over 9,000 at the game. Could the club do a few games in Oct/Nov /Dec with similar prices, like season ticket holders being able to bring a friend along for a fiver ? Would be so good to get an extra 1,000 - 2,000 at MK Dons say in 2 weeks' time ! Only 9000? A lot of talk about breaking our record so falling 2000 short at £3 a ticket is embarrassing IMO
